I love the idea of the device for university, mostly reading and taking notes, it would be great but honestly I can't justify spending that much money right now. I'll have to wait for the 2nd version.

Issues mentioned: * Very far from familiar (Have to learn shortcuts to get the full functionality) * Split screen doesn't work like MacOS splitting (eg: Setting a video to full screen switches it to cover the whole screen instead of taking up only the splitted portion) * AdBlock ruined the experience a bit * Instant search feature could be better

If I had to update this list after using it on my work laptop for 5 months now: Perks of Arc: - coworkers think you're quirky and cool - you can pin tabs - Cmd + W to archive tabs is nice Quirks - Split View sucks. I'd rather open two chrome windows side by side. - arc Max features mostly suck. The "automatically rename downloads" feature is 💩 because it confuses me - the order in which tabs open and close is not intuitive - haven't used instant search ever since this review came out - Cmd+F sometimes defaults to searching things on anthropic, which doesn't make sense. I want to search this Confluence page, not anthropic Very hard to recommend to anyone, I only use it to get clout when i share my screen with my coworkers😐

This is going to be my home computer. Rather dull and not grabbing my attention, so I will rather choose an offline activity. But has all online functionality, so if I need to send some emails or get some online errands done - they will get done. Hopefully a way to reclaim the joy of doing stuff offline.

I just posted a full video on this channel - and yes It's overpriced, but it's not by design (i explain it in the full video). It seems that people buying it now are ones that want to support this startup and who can also afford it and they also love to read and annotate. I personally don't fit into that category, so I'm sticking with the iPad too. Hopefully down the line they can make a cheap one

This video is the most relatable video on the internet right now. With everything happening in the world + with all the changes with new technology and new information (information overload) + with AI being misused and we are not sure what to believe anymore + our now reduced attention span ..... its becoming a lot to handle. You have summarised what people are feeling and thinking in 1 video! I loved it! Well done on the editing too!!!!

People are barely upgrading their phones these days. And these guys wanted $700 for that device and $24 monthly subscription for something which is inferior to a smart phone. Anything that pin can do, a smartphone could do it many times better. We are living in strange times. People's income are not going upwards. All these fancy gadgets won't go far regardless of who releases like Apple's vision pro. The next phase of innovation is in healthcare and energy. A person who has health means that person also has wealth. A country which has energy means it can focus better on people's prosperity in the long term. Try building something in these sectors rather than another useless product which no one wants.

It's easy to hate on the sidelines, and definitely many startups that get hate don't deserve it, but Humane AI pin truly deserves every ounce of ridicule and public scorn. It's truly a worthless scam product the founders don't even believe in and are just trying to cynically ride the AI hype train and scam investors and customers. Definitely Juicero 2.0

Eye opening video! It might sound ironic but I think one of the best products in this category is the Ray-Ban + Meta Glasses, they might really kill the need for AI pins if they play their cards right on their next release. The main reason why these devices are trending is cause people are now wanting to be disconnected from the phone, much like it was for smartwatches in the pebble era, but in a new way and tough it doesn't really make sense to wear glasses all day the assumption that you can suddenly make people wear a new kind of accessory or piece of clothing after centuries of fashion standards is asking too much "understanding" from a market that really needs mass adoption to work properly
@SidStartupGarage
@SidStartupGarage 2 ай бұрын
Yeah I saw others comment on the Ray Ban Meta glasses too. Definitely in alignment with the category, and it has META money. I sort of agree with your mass adoption take - it usually takes a lot of miracles to happen, combined with a company that seizes the opportunities of those miracles to make a large majority of people like something they're not used to overnight. I think with those hardware startups, that's their hope - AI is the miracle, and it's the wave to ride their vessel upon
