Is there a way to save an entire mix as a template - meaning specific tracks' EQ, compressor, and plugin settings will save so that stems can just be dropped in? A la "import session data". Thanks!
@HarrisonAudioКүн бұрын
Essentially you can do a "Save As" and not keep the audio. When you import new audio you can choose to import just to the source list to drag each region where you want or it will create a new track at the bottom an you drag the regions up to the tracks. This is what Billy Decker does in Pro Tools. Check him out on KZfaq or his book called "Template Mixing". -Nathan
@HarrisonAudioКүн бұрын
Of course if you do what I show in the video then saving a session template allows you to choose that template while creating a new session. This keeps all your processing, routing etc intact so you can add the audio in later.

Does LiveTrax support recording multiple takes on a track and then choose the one we want to keep (kind of Comping Vocals but more simple) ? I will definitevley buy it but I can't currently try it since I am on vacation. It will be a great addition to Mixbus :)
@HarrisonAudio6 күн бұрын
When you make a new recording over the same area on the timeline it will make a new file on your disk. If you fully record over a previous area you will not see the previous "take" though it will be in your session folder. Basically LT is not meant to do takes as you are recording a linear show/podcast etc and not doing an overdub session. You can always make a new track to record another take of a vocal for instance but you wouldn't want to do that on the same track. -Nathan

I'm recording at 48Khz, 128ms buffer. Even soloing a track, everything else shut off, it's still happening. Any ideas anyone?
@HarrisonAudio15 күн бұрын
Buffer really should be set to 1024. I would only go down to 128 to momentarily record a MIDI track as not to hear latency when recording.

@@HarrisonAudio Thanks, that seems to have worked. But geez, the latency is really bad. Any ideas on how to solve that? (And I don't want to monitor via hardware, I need to hear it through the mixer section with compression, EQ, etc) thanks.
@HarrisonAudio15 күн бұрын
That's just the nature of Mixbus since it has a certain amount of processing under the hood you should only use low buffer sizes sparingly. If you need to track something set the buffer low but when you are not recording it really needs to be at 1024. -Nathan
@mp103915 күн бұрын
@@HarrisonAudio I did that, and it improves latency, but then I'm trying to track while hearing unbearable pops, dropouts and clicks. Not a good tradeoff. I've not had this problem with other DAWs. Worst case scenario, you guys should have a 'latency free tacking' button that shuts off some of that processing (preferably with us choosing what gets shut off). That would be highly preferable to having to hear dropouts and clicks, OR having to stop and reset the buffer size constantly when you're recording or playing. This is a pretty big deal I sure hope someone is working on fixing this problem.

Is SSL going to change Mixbus to look more like LiveTrax. I keep looking for a DAW like Mixbus but developers today think they have to change things once a month to keep up with compitition. I tried Mixbus32 a while back but it kept crashing and freezing up. I was looking foward to trying mixbus10 but there doesn't seem to be a lot of talk about it online and with SSL buying it I'm a little afraid of buying it. Also buying it and having to pay again when they move to mixbus11 kinda sucks. I would think they would at least license my purchase for 3 years. Heck Davinci Resolve gives updates forever and because of that I buy a lot of Davinci products. If Davinci develops a DAW they'll put the other DAWs out of business or at least force them to change their sales models.
@HarrisonAudio16 күн бұрын
Most features are added due to requests from users. We could just have a Edit window and Mixbus window but someone will always want more. There can be a fine balance between adding new features and making a DAW more "cluttered" as some one put it. No one is required to upgrade from the version they have but if a feature is added they can't live without then they would need to pay that upgrade fee. -Nathan

I was able to work on this. (Thanks Bangs!) The waves card has an internal network switch in it. So I just cross patched the s5000 network port to the waves card ethernet port. You still have to change your computer's network settings to a static IP to match the console range, and install the AH Midi Control app. Don't forget to go to the settings page of the AH midi control app though, as that needs to be set correctly to get everything to talk.
