You haven't been watching along have you 🤔 When I started the build I explained how I got the car and I explained how I got it for basically free plus I already had most the parts since I part out and sell VW parts cars (so I had a few wrecked ovals). So why buy an oval when I had all this for free and have the know how and can make content at the same time?

Need advice. My bed is all together and mounted on frame. But the problem is the tailgate only closes if I push in on the bedsides real hard while trying to close it.. Any suggestions? Tried shimming and not shimming the ned to mess with angles with no luck. Pretty much all new box and tailgate.

Hi thanks for watching! If it's a completely new be or a bed that 100% taken apart. unbolt the rea cross sill under the tailgate and this allows you to widen and close the gap between the tailgate and the bed side also keeping the tailgate from chipping the paint when closing if too tight or if in your case too wide of a gap and need to close up. If that doesn't work the opposite end top two front bolts on the header panel connecting the bed sides will also allow you to widen and close the gap near the latching point. Hope this helps!!

@@R9Garage Hi thank you! bedsides were new but had a stock tailgate. Recently got a new tailgate, and the new one isn't fitting. I will try loosening the cross sill as you mentioned. Appreciate the help!

Can you please please assist me . I love your work . I have an old pair of smoothies and I have tried everything to get them to look like the copper you have done on the VW rims .. can you please please guide me in the right direction . I’m all out of ideas . Did you actually copper plate them ? Or do a chrome with a transparent powder ?

Hi when we do copper wheels or parts we polish then nickel and copper plate with polishing in between just like triple plate chrome process but we do not complete the chrome step. Then we clear coat powder coat to prevent oxidization since copper will always oxidize.

Yeah I can do an episode on how steel wheels are assembled. I build both welded 2-Piece wheels and Wire wheels. Both use many of the same basic parts so I will combine it into one episode. I will not show welding or truing as I have built most of my own jigs and tooling over the years that allow me to build certain wheels that my competitors cannot 😁

Short early swing axle? The centering arms in front gonna help. I would prefer less narrowed beam but to each his own. Awesome wheels

Yeah, early/short axle/swing axle. Front extended uppers and lowers will deff make a huge difference centering the front wheels in the wheel well. Narrow beam is function as much as it is looks.. you can get full lock-to-lock turning without hitting the fenders on a slammed bug. Without narrowed beam you'll hit the fenders.
