what is there to compare? in the former rouge is experienced and used to her power. she knows how to keep them in check and she is not afraid of them. in the latter it is the exact opposite. she is terrified of her powers. she understands what it is yet she feels that she is undable to controll them. also i think the movie is x men 1, in which it is days or weeks since her powers awakend in a most traumatising situation and she is far from over that. one is a veteran the other a rookie and both portray that well.

Jesus Christ, some of these comments sicken me. As a bisexual POC myself, I hate forced diversity more than anyone. It’s a cheap trick played by corporate overlords in an attempt to garner quick ratings. However, people need to stop using their feelings on increased diversity in modern comics to just be openly bigoted. Instead of just attacking marginalized communities and referring to gay people as members of “the alphabet cult” or trying to use the percent of the population that doesn’t identify as anything other than straight as valid reason for their exclusion and persecution, take a fucking step back and look at the corporate root of the problem? I get not liking forced diversity. I hate feeling like my race and sexuality are nothing but dollar signs that media companies want to exploit. I don’t like the fact that they’d rather change a characters representation than grant a character who’s already openly gay more of a spotlight, or even create a wholly original character.
