Still way too small. Skyrim is a gigantic heavily populated land area, home to the oldest human empire on the continent, and the current empire's most prosperous province. Solitude socioeconomically is roughly the equivalent of 19th century St. Petersburg. This is a medium sized medieval city. TES isnt a medieval setting, its early modern.

How I'd love to see some of "the old world" done like this. The great halls of Karaz-A-Karak. The bustle of Marienburg. The depths of Hell Pit. The tunnels of Skaven Blight. The Grandeur of Ulthuan. And the squaller of Black Crag. Play some Warhammer why dont you!

I always found weird how run down Whiterun's rampart and fortifications are. The Great War did not damage skyrim so why is everything looking like it just was under siege ?

This feels much better than in game winterhold, feels like a place after much collapsed into the sea it became a place where everyone knows everyone and collectively hates the college

The size of towns and cities in Skyrim always bothered me. The small towns people forget about most of the time like Rorikstead, Dragon bridge, Shor’s stone Ivarstead, Karthwasten ect. Should’ve been about the size of Falkreath minimum. The more minor hold capitols like Falkreath, Morthal and Dawnstar should’ve been like Solitude size minimum, and the major Hold capitols should’ve been like double the size they are now. The only one that makes sense to be small is Winterhold because a lot of the city fell into the sea, but even then it should’ve been more than like 4 buildings and the college. I always used to think it was like a technical limitation for city size, but looking back at older games, more minor towns in Morrowind felt like capital cities in Skyrim and Vivec City felt absolutely gigantic. As for oblivion, just about every City in that game was bigger. I feel like in the future, Skyrim is going to stick out and feel really under populated both through comparison to the past games and when new TES games come out and the newer technology is going to allow for cities to feel bigger and livelier than ever.
