i've watched you build your blueprints and just wanted to give you a little advice: all buildings can be build on wooden foundations. you don't need to use stone at all. well, unless you want far arching platforms, but you already figured that out. and those corner merlorns, if you ever feel like building them cheaty, you can just build a temporary wooden pillar to give you the right angle to place them, then delete the pillar and the merlorn will still stay in it's barely connected position.

you can use curse forge. its up to date, its not gonna cause problems, it's just got a bad rep cause it's bad for modders and technical users, but for your average joe it'll be like anything else
@Krydax8
@Krydax8 4 күн бұрын
This is bad advice. Yes its up to date, but curse forge is terrible to use for a variety of reasons. I mean the simplest one is that curse & overwolf are horribly bloated, and having something like multimc or prism are just better programs. Also, as GTNH is updated regularly, curse is often not playing nice with it, so again, your advice is bad, because it IS going to cause problems sometimes. There's really no reason to use curse. It takes like 5 or 10 minutes to get prism.

I'm sure you've found out by now, but the Quarried Stone is great for bases. Mobs won't spawn on it. So I found myself a nice walled village and replacing the areas inside and on the wall with quarried stone. Tilled soil and stairs won't allow spawns either so only possible places would be on top of the buildings but I've placed torches in any areas. Also I am surprised that you had a blood moon so soon. I'm on day 84 and didn't even realize they were a thing. guess I've been lucky so far.

a possible chess stream? sounds like fun! in that case, i suggest ''5D Chess With Multiverse Time Travel'', for when you get comfortable with learning the normal chess rules. and don't worry, it may be quite overwhelming and confusing in the beginning, but it's not actually that difficult. you just have to keep in mind that basically all pieces can move across timelines with the same moveset they have on the normal board and that you can target a king in the past way easier than in the present. many 5D chess matches are won by pure accident on one players oversight, simply because there are too many possible moves to consider when you can make many new timelines every turn. or maybe the ai is just not that good, even on hard.🤷 i suggest starting with some matches against an easy ai opponent to get a feel for the extra rules without going through a tutorial, then either go to harder matches or read up on whatever still makes no sense, followed by some puzzles for a change of pace and for deeper understanding. most puzzles feel quite easy to solve, a few you will solve more or less by accident and only a few will leave you stumped. hopefully. but regardless, i guarantee you will have fun for at least a few hours with this game.👍

if you try this map again at some point, i know how to save a few logs for the early dam. the trick is to build it diagonal, with small storages in between for pathing. i can't tell you exactly how many logs you would save without trying it out myself, but it looks to me like it needs 2-3 dam pieces less, which even with the costs of the storages would still save you around 20-30 logs, i believe. which would have been just about what you would have needed to barely make it in time for the drought. and about the idea of going for levees before forester research, i tried doing that on a different map. getting it to work was a very close call. you would need two or three inventors huts running all day to get the science points asap, then rush to build the whole dam within a day and a half. it can work but the micromanagement required is not fun. my usual hardmode strategy is to get the farmhouse build as first priority, with carrots, to get an early harvest before the first drought hits and only aim for a proper dam on cycle 2. works for most maps, if there is at least a bit of river space between you base and the water sources. alternatively, if you get very desperate for early damming, you could just dam off a small area near your farms. would last for most of the first drought, if not all. should also refill, since most maps have a river water depth of over 0.5. and i have tried to look up how much water and food a beaver need per day. according to the wiki: 2,13 water per day on average 2,66 food per day, regardless of food type and beaver faction. hope this helps~
