What I understand about redstone is that it is red, it has certian elements in it like mercury, it can make a torch, modify tools/weapons, be used in recipes, and somehow is used in Minecraft logic programming....

My personal rule on vanilla redstone is.. don't. I do whatever I can to avoid it because it honestly feels like to takes so much time to get it to do what I want it to do. You might be able to use one of the special redstone devices to make it treat the signal more like an on/off than a strength value. Can't remember if you'd gotten into any of the enderio conduits or not but it has a redstone conduit that has the ability to carry a strong (full strength) signal over the cable regardless of the input signal strength, so that's a possible option too.

I think the circuit for some recipes even there are no recipes with a different circuit is a artifact from the time we didn't had virtual circuits in GT5(u) and as you still need a circuit in the machine on the java side you have to give it a one now even there are no differentiating recipes.

Just until AE2, just until real autocrafting is a thing. Do some simple stuff with logistics pipes. Will save you some time. Plus should be cheap at this point.

you have a good idea of redstone in my opinion, i think the same as you but i have tested it and i supose covers only afect the face they are on that is why you got confused about that redstone usage.(redstone have 15lvls and it will propagate losing 1 power each block, when the forge hammer gets a signal there are more items and it will stop) I recoment you today Type Filter/Item Filter from GT you can automate ore processing you place it and forget it, you won't need to put each ore/crushed/impure/gem in a separate chest, it will do it for you (use item conduict from ender io) Only if you want of corse you said you play a certain way i am recomending not telling the way as you said . :) enjoy

Do you have vanadiumsteel tools? if not, you should look into it. Its very easy with 1 chrome dust 1 vanadium dust and 7 steel dust for 9 vanadiumsteel dust, which can be smelted in the EBF with some oxygen

All about the strong and weak RS signal.

it emits weak redstone , you thinking of strong redstone. some else can explain it better, I prefer starting with RS in the same Y-level (using the sides) when using vanilla RS.

Just use one for gravel and one for sand. Two.
