Nice Collection. Tri-ang still have a following by some of us. Better build quality and maintainability than the current Hornby range. A better product in fact. What current enthusiasts fail to recognise is that old engines need old controllers to perform best. Thanks for sharing. Mon

We have a Tri-ang model train set that has to be over 50 years old. It's been stored well, has a power supply but it's set for English power (we're in the States). What might it be worth?

I would VERY ,much like a copy of the track plans for Littlewood if that is possible ? It seems to very much my idea of the model railway I would like to build, as I love full length train running, and this design allows that, plus the fiddle yard give a great breadth of trains running. Any chance of getting a copy of the track plan ?

I see that you have the rare to find double curved level crossing. I had a large double track loop over and loop under Super 4 layout (32 Foot circuit) with System 6 branch line between 1972 and 1979 which had a curved level crossing on it. My late father built the layout when I was 10 for my brother and myself and it was great fun. Sold all the track and action accessories in 1979 and built a larger Peco Streamlined layout controlled by Zero 1 DCC until a house move in 1982. I now run an end to end layout as tail chasing can grow tiresome after a few laps.

As littlewood was designed to be portable, the most important factor in the materials used was weight. The hillsides were formed from polystyrene ceiling tiles cut to form the contours, the resulting structure were covered in a layer of paper-mache and painted green. Most of the surface texture is by Woodland Scenics as this is resistant to fade.

The overhead catenary system used on the low level track section is built using etched brass components manufactured by Wrightscale. From memory, I think they were based in Fife, Scotland, but I don't know if they are still trading.

That's pretty cool, the detail on the bridge is spectacular. Is it made entirely from kits or are parts of it scratch built?
