Some engine breeds are dying like the konda k, LS and Coyotes, being able to 3d print cast could make this accessible in auto shops creating a library of knowledge on how to make these and completing at local machine shops would revolutionize the enthusiast space.

@tuyo_adventures.2185 does this happen when cold or hot. Does the choke make it worse or go away?
@tuyo_adventures.218516 күн бұрын
@@TheMotorcycleForge Thanks for geting back to me, it happens either way on decel and also when i give throttle, Choke shuts it off so i'll say makes it worse, Thanks.
@TheMotorcycleForge16 күн бұрын
@tuyo_adventures.2185 if choke makes it worse it's possibly to rich. So altering the needle position to make it leaner. Also the mixture screw will need to be altered to suit.
@tuyo_adventures.218523 күн бұрын
I modified my exhaust, basically to straight pipe now I am getting a back fire what could that be? it's a four strokes with ported heads. Should a muffler solve my issues?
@TheMotorcycleForge22 күн бұрын
@tuyo_adventures.2185 if the backfire is on decel it is most likely lean on the idle circuit. It is possible it's rich but it would have other issues as well if that were the case. Adjusting the mixture screw to richer idle is where I would start or a bigger idle jet.

Hey how come my scooter is boggy when I am at wide open throttle then it loses power so I have to slow down again and get going again.
@TheMotorcycleForge25 күн бұрын
@Smodlee Could be either very rich or very lean among other things like float height too low. You will need to do some testing to figure out which one it is.
@Smodlee25 күн бұрын
@@TheMotorcycleForge float hight adjustment is just bending that little lip that float jet sits in right
@TheMotorcycleForge25 күн бұрын
@Smodlee yep, ideally you want it sealing a few mm before the float hits the roof of the carb

You need to be very careful with the rubber grommets that keep the sliding bracket in place. I tried to put them back in today after cleaning both calipers and its torn. Had to order new online (€20) so be careful with those grommets on the caliper. Hopefully I can save someone the stress I had today

Isn’t having good continuity the same as not going to earth?
@TheMotorcycleForgeАй бұрын
Not quite as you could have a broken wire in the stator that isn't going to earth. Definitely pays to do both tests to narrow down the exact issue.

On the inside of the stator cover there's the black box, which I assume is a sensor. Can you explain what that does? I'm trying to see if I can upgrade an old 3 phase stator on my 87 fz600 that uses brushes, to a newer style like this
@TheMotorcycleForgeАй бұрын
Not sure what black box you mean, I would check a service manual to see what it does, as it could be anything from a pick up to a set of diodes rectifying the ac voltage. As far as a stators go. I haven't seen one with brushes yet, that's pretty funky, like a starter motor.

Great video, you earned a subscription. ;) As for your cutoff saw, if the brushes are shorter than they are wide, they need replacing and that may be your issue. But if you are giving it a birthday, you may as well clean up the commutator with a bit of sandpaper. (There should be plenty of videos detailing the simple process) If that doesn't fix it, the problem is likely a shorted winding in the rotor which is not economical to repair.
@TheMotorcycleForgeАй бұрын
Thanks Mick much appreciated! As for the saw, that is with new brushes fitted and I cleaned up the commutator with some scotch Brite. So it's a nice copper color again, that was before I took that recording so I'm guessing not much point going any further.
