Thank you for your video. I tried making my yoshimura exhaust more free flowing by removing the end cap sound baffle. Unfortunately I lost performance, it felt like it had better throttle response but I lost bottom end grunt and some top end speed. So I'm guessing the bigger diameter end on the exhaust reduced the intake/exhaust charge flow. I've heard the analogy trying to blow out candles with your mouth wide open compared to lips closer together 🤔

Yes that makes perfect sense , velocity is the thing you want to help empty the cylinder. It's a very fine line between to big and to small, big companies like yoshi spend millions finding that line.

I modified my exhaust, basically to straight pipe now I am getting a back fire what could that be? it's a four strokes with ported heads. Should a muffler solve my issues?

@tuyo_adventures.2185 if the backfire is on decel it is most likely lean on the idle circuit. It is possible it's rich but it would have other issues as well if that were the case. Adjusting the mixture screw to richer idle is where I would start or a bigger idle jet.
