Been studying longsword for a while and would like to start some montante, who would you recommend going with for a steel? I was thinking Regenyei or Kvetun?

I'd go for steel, because sparring you only can do with foam if not holding back, steel has the correct weight and balance e though. And if holding back you can as well use steel. One Steel, one foam and a lot of friends with different foam swords and you are good to go. After quite some time with solo drills at least.

I know someone who ordered ad Kvetun and was not happy with the quality. She was sending it back and now the package is lost on the delivery, because of war most likely. I'd go for Regenyei, just to not get any trouble.

My Regenyei Doppelhander (Flamberge) is just fine. Very lively in my hands and the edge seems to be proper for training

One the one hand it is awsome to see renewed interest in and exploration of the old arts. On the other hand the lack of practical application and being blooded by desperate struggles of combat underpin the character of your instruction. Don't send your students out unprepared.

How good is this for builnding up the arms? i want to start exercising more for my upper body and arms and i saw some videos about mace , sledge hammer and sword swings and the like, how good would swinging a montante is for that?

Hi, I realize this comment is a year old, but I can talk from experience on this. I own several different kinds if swords and staffs, most sword practice will really build up your forarms and shoulders, as well as help you with endurance training. Most of the work you see done, with any kind of sword, requires a lot of forarm strength, and will help build it quickly! If you want biceps, pectorals, back, and abdominals the best bet is a good work out routine at the gym. That supplimented with sword training leads to wonderful results!

Mega gut gemacht! Gibt es spezielle Vereine, wo man den Dolch Kampf erlernen kann? Und wie sieht es aus mit beiden Händen einen Dolch? Gibt es dafür wieder etwas spezielles?

Danke! Viele historische Fechtvereine unterrichten Dolchkampf. Wir (Drey Wunder) auch. Dolch in beiden Händen ist uns aber als Quelle (Fechtbuch, Handschrift, etc.) nicht bekannt. Dafür aber bei Kali / Escrima (philippinisch).
