I'm watching a lot of videos about the sniper mediums and it seems they are doing really good at 55 yards . Do you know of a more accurate pellet for field target use at 55 yard targets ?

@sniperxbow60

BITSNBOBS, I wouldn't say that it gives me a psychological advantage, other than I know that I'm not putting a possible sub par pellet in the mix. I don't remember if I mentioned it in this particular video, but in an Exact JSB 8.44 grain tin, I've found weights between 8.07 grains on the low side, up to 8.74 grains on the high side. That alone will, or could give me a miss on a 55 yard Field Target. Add inconsistent head size into the equation, plus a larger/smaller skirt size as well, and you could possibly have pellets out of the tin, if not sorted, vary more than 50 FPS. That's a large number to be off, particularly when a decent wind is involved. I would say by me sorting them in this order: first weight, then head size, then skirt size, is my normal regimen for a big match. For a local, or club match, I might not go to those extremes, and sometimes my score shows for it. I would say psychological wise, it doesn't give me an advantage, as much as peace of mind knowing that the pellets that I am using, are culled to almost perfection.

I will be ordering a set of Sportsmatch ATP-66 2-Pc 30mm Fully Adjustable Extra High Scope Mounts. Make adjustments with mounts then fine tune with turret. Thanks again.

@@sniperxbow60 I did like the video. Question: On the T Robb video, can you tell me more about that straw thing and how you used it to calibrate the T Robb? More specifically, how do you know what length to cut it? (sorry, got my vids crossed on this question)
@sniperxbow60
@sniperxbow60 Жыл бұрын
@@ramvan2284 , What I did, was find a pellet that was a measured 4.52 in my Pelletgage measuring device. As I said in that video, I cut the skirt off, because I'm only concerned with the head of the pellet. I took the adjustment screw of the TR Robb sizer, and backed it all (or most of the way) out. I glued the straw to the head of the pellet, ( actually, just behind the head), and dropped it in. When the pellet head stops on it's own, due to gravity, I cut the straw off flush with the top of the die. I then placed the top of the die onto the board. I then slowly adjusted the screw, until I felt resistance, but not moving the pellet head. This is now adjusted properly, for future pellets going into the die.

Can these dyes or molds be used in a regular regular reloading press maybe a Hornady or leave or RCBS press? Or will they only work and a Corbin style press
@sniperxbow60
@sniperxbow60 2 жыл бұрын
These particular dies will only fit Corbin swaging equipment. They can make dies for regular reloading presses, but there is an extra step involved. Also, a Corbin press has a greater mechanical advantage over a standard reloading press. This same process in a reloading press is much more difficult, taking much more time and more physical effort

When you take the valve off the front of the airtube, I noticed that you took off and replaced the black crosman thread tape. Is there anything special to do when you take that off? I need to replace mine with yellow gas tape to rule out a slow leak. My last effort will be to replace the gauge. I replaced all of the orings. I have re taped the gauge. Still have the leak so I wanna try changing the tape on the fill port. Is there anything special to do when doing this?
