I was also suffering from the same problem. I had to press hard with my left leg to completely silence the ringing sound. This situation both prevented me from working comfortably and strained my leg. Since silicone rubber is exposed to pressure, its volume shrinks over time and it cannot apply sufficient pressure to the pressure sensor. To fix the problem, the silicone rubber needs to be replaced. I did a little research and when I saw that a silicone part that did not even cost 1 dollar was sold for about 30 dollars on the internet, I found the solution myself without spending any money. I glued a 2mm thick plastic silicone layer to the end of the metal pedal that puts pressure on the silicone part and the problem was solved. Although heating and petroleum jelly may make the silicone work temporarily, it does not work in the long term. will return to its old self again..The next thing to do is to wash the very dirty white mesh tom and snare drum heads of my roland with laundry detergent and make them white as the first day. But damn, I don't understand why they used screws that are nowhere to be found instead of the familiar allen screws. I'll have to buy a drum key.

Any issues with this sticking properly? Mine comes off the head but I'm thinking I need to give the next one about 15 min or so before playing on it.

The video is exactly what I was looking for, thank you very much. The hi hat cymbal of my td1 dmk drum does not work from time to time or its sensitivity decreases. I thought there was a break in the jack cable, I was wrong

If you’re not into DIY, the manufacturer DEMVOX that made my sound booth also builds these sylomer platforms for drums (electric or acoustic). In fact, I placed one of these inside my sound booth, to be on the safe side. I put the electric drumset into the sound booth to also eliminate the clacking sound from the cymbal pads (and whatever noise the sticks still create on the mesh-head toms).

Hey Vdrum! Just came here to thank you for this video, I built my own isolation platform following your tutorial rigorously and it worked out great. I used only one 104cm x 140cm x 2cm MDF board (it's enough for me and my tiny drumkit, besides my apartment isn't that big) for the platform and eleven Sylomer pads (I'm a skinny boy with a small drumset) underneath, plus another Sylomer pad that serves as a kickpad stopper between the kickpad and the wall (a good tip for those with a sliding kickpad issue I suppose, it stops the kickpad and isolates the vibrations as well). My downstairs neighbour (a woman in her 70s) had already complained twice before I built the platform: once when I had nothing but a folded carpet as an isolation method and then again when I tried using two layers of EVA jigsaw mats underneath the carpet. None of that worked. After I watched your video and was lucky enough to find a company that sells Sylomer pads here in Brazil for a price that's almost the same as in Germany, I immediately decided to try building the platform. It's been two months now since I did so, lots of daily heavy drumming since then and not a single complaint, I met with her this week while leaving the building and asked her about the noise, she said she thought I had given up playing, that's how well it worked. I also moved the kit to another room far from where the bedrooms are in my building, I presume that probably helped as well. Anyways, a big danke schön to you from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I don't know what I would have done without your very helpful video.

Actually 0.011 N/mm2 is the maximum static load. For best result mass shouldn't exceed it, but it should be near it to work fine. Also it is better to use 2 layers (2x25mm) for best vibration decoupling. One layer may be not enough depending on vibration frequencies in real application.

Hello, I saw a lot of your videos and started making my DIY electronic drums, I bought shielded Jack connectors because they fit perfectly into the hole in the shell, the fit worked, however, the two stereo outputs were the same with head sound, without rim, after After trying many different things I saw that other simple plastic connectors did not present the problem. Could I use resistors in the shielded Jack connectors to solve the problem? These connectors were very expensive and fit perfectly, I would like to make it work

I can't believe the price of the NE1s for just ONE puck. Also surprised no one has taken apart these and the NE10 to figure out it's design and make a DIY version. Everyone is making gigantic platforms when they should just be trying to remake the small NE10s and small NE1 pucks.

This worked beautifully for me. Definitely don't need to remove the top though and I just ended up soaking the rubber piece in medium warm water for about 3 minutes, then did a 20 second microwave to it and left it in for about 5 more minutes and it was golden. Tried it out just now and turned my damn hi hat back 10 years! Haven't heard the hi hat be that responsive since maybe ever. I'd imagine over 24 hours it'll become a slight bit less sensitive as it's still malleable but definitely did the trick for now. Amazing. Thanks for the tutorial! Edit: so it's been over a month and it's still working great!

If you have a TD 17, sell your pads and replace them with the PD105 and the PD85 pads, you will find the difference to be night and day. I have played the TD20 module through a PA, but not the TD 12. If the TD 12 is a mini TD 20, then it will sound exceptional for stage work. Further, you can always route it through Superior Drummer, to acquire even better sounds. Additionally, you can purchase a Midi to USB interface and connect the TD12 to your laptop.

Curious if your still on here. Similar to my strike pro, when using direct out, seems all effects, eq, ambience and compression are gone, just the dry signal. I know most sound engineers in the clubs I play at don't have the time or interest in dialing these sounds in so feel like I need to send the LR to the FOH. Is this correct and is there a work around? In my experience, some of the ambience and compression cant be reproduced in a club mixing board? Figured, I could always send the LR of the full mix too and they could add some kick snare or toms etc but not pull sounds out?
