This technique makes me want to get the game going again. Have you used it to fix vertical misalignment? I can imagine using this merge and a slope down from the high side. Clip through the slope from the low side. The beam snap point might be weird.

Very smart technique. You could use this to construct curves that have a changing radius by retargeting with a new beam for every foundation block constructed. You could build basically any shape with this.

That’s one thing I like, in that you can put a technique out there and see creative ways people put it to use that you never thought of.

First I wanted to make beautiful roads without junktions like you, but its SO MUCH WORK, even with good blueprints. Now I habe the most basic roads with T and X junktions an doing must of transportation by trains, with is much less work to connect.

I just wanna know how the hell you put those concrete pillars angled on an incline like that. Mine won’t do it. I can’t figure it out. I wanna build sidewalls on an incline but just can’t for the life of me get it to do it

If I’m understanding your question correctly, I just used a beam in Freeform mode along the edge of the ramp piece and snapped the pillar to it.

I realize this is old, but I've seen in a few videos on making curved foundations people saying that foundations and catwalks rotate in 5 degree increments. Just wondering if something changed since these videos were made or I am messing something up, because I can only get them to rotate in 10 degree increments. It would be nice to be able to make legit 90 degree turns.

It's truly a public service and a personal sacrifice he made because YT's algorithm punishes videos that don't engage for the duration. I'd wager the majority of people are actually watching all the way through because he didn't have any idle time. This is the flavor of video that Satisfactory players want. Everybody's here for problem solving, not silly antics.

Why in gods name do the devs of this game not just add curves of 15, 30, 60 and 90 degrees? Its not rocket science. They've got inverted ramps but no curves, waaaht?
@relyengaming
@relyengaming Ай бұрын
The problem is that whatever curve they add will only work in one size. So when that doesn’t work for your situation you’d need another curve and another and another. Then the answer becomes why both use spline curves and they’ve said they aren’t against it. But they’d want to make the UX right and have to take time away from other elements of the game. I’d like it too, so we’ll just have to hope one day. For now we find solutions. That said, my blueprint version of this video will save tons of time.

@relyengaming
@relyengaming Ай бұрын
This is due to z-fighting. You need to raise one of the foundations a bit to solve it. You can put a pillar down in the middle, delete the foundation and attach a new foundation to the bottom of the pillar. This raises the foundation by a tiny decimal. Might need to repeat a couple times. There are some other ways to do it as well.

Do you still need to follow the 2 to 1 crank to water wheel ratio once you have the tech that lets you crank all cranks in series at once?
@relyengaming
@relyengaming Ай бұрын
The ratio changed several months back. I think it's like 5 generators to 2 wheels now or something. Now you can see how many Newtons are being generated and can add generators up to that point. If you add more, the power just gets split among them and you don't really get a penalty.

**** the dumb ****! This is helpful and impressive, so not faulting the creator, but wow! Satisfactory has so much going for it and they drop the ball on some of the most basic stuff. A road system would be FAR easier to do than many of the things they have pulled off. The optimization to make so many "machines" "run" is very impressive, but they can't take the time to select the right model to cast the player's shadow? In UE, it's literally a drop down. You have the mesh that the first person camera sees for the player, and the mesh that 3rd person and other players see for the player and all you have to do to make the shadow correct is select the mesh with a head. Literally less than a minute to correct. They talked about the foliage system being a massive system that noone wants to tackle (to fix the trees respawning issue) but there is no good reason for that to be a complex system. Replicated foliage as a respawning resource node has been done MANY times in UE and it's very simple and performs at ridiculous scale (even in UE4), so wtf did they do to make it problematic? Not to mention, most people would prefer it to not respawn at all if they had a way to get those resources. How about an early-game greenhouse type "machine" that produces leaves, wood, and mycelium, and then just turn off respawning of foliage completely? Simple! Last one... Would anyone complain about "realism" if they just turned off collision between vehicles and small rocks and foliage? I don't think so, and that one change (literally adjusting collision layers : less than an hour's work) would make the vehicles feel significantly better to drive. Sorry. That was pretty ranty, but I LOVE this game and HATE some things that have been problems for years and would take less than 1 week for 1 developer to fix.
@relyengaming

No worries. We all have things we wish the developers would do. But they are going to do what they think is important. Can only hope that it will align with what you want at some point. 🤞

If you press "P" while standing on a Powered Floor (PC), you'll get a report on total power generation, accumulator Storage and whether or not you're meeting the needs of all your machines. There's a small cavern next to Victor terminal that already has a whole bunch of deactivated accumulators in them, already on a powered floor. If you connect your power floor to that one, you can re-activate about half of them without having to make a new power bank area from scratch. (and you can scan all the rest of the damaged ones).
