An easy to follow, in depth extension to the beautiful roads video, on how to create beautiful ramps in your Satisfactory world with no mods involved.
This guide will cover how to make gorgeous roads and ramps in Satisfactory easily. We cover the new Janno method for creating ramp sidewalls. Along the way, we encounter an evil truck with a thirst for pioneer roadkill. This menace of a truck will stop at nothing to mock your ragdoll body as it drives off to find it's next victim. How will we deal with this threat to pioneer peacefulness? Well, I guess you'll just have to find out.

Just to summarize: you go from the top of the top to the top of the bottom and connect the bottom of the top to the bottom of the bottom and now we have our pillars as the top and the bottom as anchor points, so we can connect to the bottom of the top at the top to the bottom of the top at the bottom :P

Roads are looking amazing, done an amazing job, love the curved incline, and trucks looks like they run with no issues at all on it. Truly thankful for giving me a shoutout.

broooooo, this is mental haha, just getting back into the game and the last time i was playing, roads like this, not even fathomable xD great vids and i love that you've found the other vids to help with the edging and the curbed inclines, i saw that video and was just like wtf, even the pros were like its not possible haha. great vids mate

Yea, these roads are the combination of a lot of great things. I’ve loved roads in my builds, so these guides are just a labor of love.

@@relyengaming yeah bud it's the best ain't it, I think I've done more roads than anything this restart for up6, like.. I think you've spoken to my builders soul so much with the roads that it's the reason I still have not laid a single train track 350 hours in 😅

@@CyPhaSaRin Haha, yea, I'm in the same boat at the moment. Although, I'm probably going to have to redo some intersections. They are getting...crowded :P Which is good, gives me a chance to add more life to the roads.

Great video on building very nice looking roads. Just one thing bothers me, not with you, with Satisfactory itself. Why are the mono rails so easy to place yet roads are a chore? Why not have roads work like placing rails???

Thanks Brent! Official roads may one day make it into Satisfactory. I know when the devs highlighted my blueprint roads video on stream, they talked about how they had a version of roads in a early iteration of Satisfactory. And that the devs were not against adding roads, it was just a matter if they could make a good user experience if they did decide to do it. So, "maybe" one day we'll see something more official.

btw any tips on a T high way ? im on the dessert south after the rocky split, that leads to the swap or to the hills above the swamp. just having hard time getting a T highway that get these connected, also to the vally.

I have a sorta T junction in the example save. It's certainly not a big T highway. But, the key is to just make sure your ramps can start and end on the same level as each road. That way, you can just merge at any angle, as they won't line up on the same grid. I'd recommend just googling for some T Highway images and try to implement something you like. You can always hop on my Discord at some point and it might be easier to chat about it.

@@relyengaming question, if you do curve, going right but then left again, knowing only to use the outside turn, how do you know how many foundations you need to skip befor adding the curve? is that 1 foundation on the outer curve and that would then connect with the inner curve?

@@relyengaming and how wide is a full turn ? like we know the railway cuve, are 3 foundations leftor roght and 2 foundations on the outside down or up. / 3-3 foundations

@@jacovanderschaaf3044 Honestly, you can start the next turn right away or use a single or more spacer foundations. I generally will have a single straight row coming out of the turn just to help deal with the sidewalls. But I'm pretty sure I'd just go to the next turn if I thought it was necessary or looked good. The key is to just use the catwalks to help guide your road. As I pointed out you can use them to see where your road is going to go and quickly backtrack if you don't think it's right. There really is a lot of flexibility, the 2nd method really helps cleanup almost any situation.

@@jacovanderschaaf3044 The width of roads are flexible as well, just depends on how you want to make them. I used 3 foundation width in the video because it's simple and fits really will with a quick method for the sidewalls on both sides. Along with 2 width roads for the on/off ramps, just because I thought it looked good. But, there is nothing saying you can't have 4, 5, 6 (or more) width roads. Even 1 and 2 width pathways have their uses. If you are using the pillars as sidewalls, the catwalk method will always ensure your outside curve is fairly easy. The inside turn might take more work. That said, I've found benefit in doing longer curves. Where I still use the 10% turn with the catwalk, but instead of doing a single foundation row, I might do 2 or 3. It makes the turn longer, and the inside becomes more friendly to work with as well. You can always hit me up on my discord for more questions. Screenshots can help with examples too :)

Thanks Relyen & Janno! I just used this video to fix the ramp top gap on the dedicated server! :D 1+ year later, and still very helpful! P.S. I used diagonal mode and didn't go further than about 8.2m. The angle was correct. I have no bottom flat section, as the bottom goes directly into the sand. So it's even easier and quicker.

Honestly this is gonna make me quit the game. Again. I came back trying to give a real try after Update 8 and I didn't know i needed a masters degree in architecture to build road barriers....

lol, I'll admit, doing the curved ramp barriers is the hardest. But if you avoid those, the rest can be done with blueprints :P

Lol yea I remember that. That truck was delivering coal to the power plant and i literally didn’t stage getting run over. It caught me by surprise multiple times. So, I couldn’t help but include it for some fun. Side note, I let people download that save and remember someone telling me they got run over multiple times by that murderous truck.
