there is another element to the timing piece that most do not talk or think about, each person has a rhythmic timing to their stroke as well, you can use a Metronome to help build that in to your game, a friend of mine brought this to me and it helps

There are millions of instructional for pool players. I find that hand/eye coordination is the biggest thing for me to keep under control and I think for most people. I, as I have seen most amateurs doing is moving our eyes back and forth from cue ball to object ball on every stroke. When I started using fewer and shorter pre strokes and only looking at cue ball once, maybe twice and the rest of the time looking at the point of contact on the object ball, my shot making went way up. It does not feel natural at first, but before long I found it is no problem to do so and I am now much more at ease and relaxed while pocketing the ball. Since our hand will go where our eyes are looking and the cue as an extension of our hand, the cue ball will go where we are looking. Keep looking at the object ball and the advice on this very good video and your game will improve greatly in no time at all. Oh and bringing the cue back very slow on final backstroke with a slight hesitation before the follow through stroke, goes a long ways toward keeping the cue on line.

Great job. Thanks for showing detail of software and CNC setup and not sugar coating. It takes a significant investment in tooling, time, materials and a long learning curve to make an acceptable cue. To me I like my stick better. i found the cuetek a bit "whippy" -- i could get more english on it than my stiffer personal cue.. but like you said it just depends on what you like. sometimes i put my maple shaft on and im just off... i don't know that i could explain why.. its weird.. was a tough transition but now im happier with carbon.. but id choose my maple shaft over the cuetek 🤷‍♂️.

The closer the grain (lines) is in a shaft - the older the tree was. Back in the 40's, 50's, 60's, and 70's you were still able to find 100 year old trees that had the tight grain patterns. Not so much anymore - hence, here comes laminated shafts, which are flat (some were pie shaped) pieces of wood glued together. Wood with 14 thru 18 grains per inch are almost impossible to find - because a tree has to be 100 years old to have a grain that tight. All maple shafts have a low and high deflection areas. It depends on where the spline is at - that is if it is at the 12 oclock or 3 oclock position. 12 o'clock is high deflection and 3 o'clock is low deflection (also for drawing). Not many people know about this. By the way - the spline is those 'half circles' on the shaft running the length of the shaft. You gotta look close to see the spline. example: the Meucci red dot shaft was a low deflection shaft if the red dot was at the 12 o'clock position. Interesting stuff.

Another great video. I use a Zan medium/hard hybrid tip. I’m assuming they make this by compressing the outside of the tip more than the middle of the tip. You mentioned the oil in the tip. If I buy a box of tips, will the oil evaporate from the last tip in the box before I use it? I guess at $30/tip on Amazon I’ll be switching to another brand. When I first started using them in 2020 they only cost about $20/tip as I remember. Since I’m relearning everything after not playing regularly for 50 years switching tips again won’t be a big deal. I would like to know if there’s any problems with single piece tips on the Revo’s? I have change my own Revo tips with no problems. Actually, I had the Victory tip and cushion pop off and roll down into the bar box shortly after I got my Revo shaft. Since then I’ve changed my own tips with no problems.
@CuemakersGuild
@CuemakersGuild 10 күн бұрын
Thank you for your question. Yes, the tip will dry out over time in the box if not used soon enough. I do not see an issue with single layer tips on a Revo shaft at all.
