Thank you so much for this fantastic video! I was at a local gun shop recently where they had a Girsan MC 312 12ga 28" shotgun with black synthetic furniture for $250. Basically a boring Turkish clone of a Benelli M2. Great gun! Great price! I taped the trigger group, the recoil pad, the top of the rib and front bead, taped off the bolt, and the sight channel on top of the receiver off, then put a plug made of a ball of tape in the muzzle. Then I went to town on it. It turned out absolutely amazing! All of my hunting buddies were blowing away! I started with a a Khaki base coat. Then I went with random stripes of flat black and brick red. I went to Michael's and got 3 pack of natural sponges for $7. I cut them in 1/3rds, so you don't have to use the whole thing at once. For the sponge paint I use a dark earth tone brown and a kind of dark chocolate brown. Spray a puddle, and just dip the pieces of sponge in these and randomly dab it on your gun. It really looks awesome! I finished it off with 3 coats of matte clear. That stuff dries really fast in the summer. 15-20 minutes between coats! This gun went from, yawn boring, to a absolute 100% sexy show stopper! I'm not kidding! I plan on doing this to many guns in the future! It is a 100% no brainer! I love it! Thank you so much again for this great video! Anyone can do this with outstanding results. It's not that tough. I promise you!

I have this model and I love it, for the price I would put it against the more expensive brands out there. 10 mil rocks! It's too bad that most companies water it down. That the 10 mil reign supreme!

Those bullets retain enough energy to pierce a chest and puncture a captain thumper, at one mile range.

I guess the fix is get a Winchester, haha! Thanks for this video. I just got back from the range with the lever of my Marlin 1894 stuck open. Its a 1980s but is new. Only 2 boxs of ammo through it. I’m super grateful for this video, and a set of gun smithing screwdrivers. Nothing I hate worse than scratching the receiver or deforming the screws

I put together a mild load with Herco powder and the 150 grain Lee bullet for about 1550 fps from my 20” ‘94. Very surprising accuracy and extremely mild report. Probably not any louder than a .22 WMR.

try taking the end of the Hornady plunger and filing it down to a rounded point then when it touches the base of the bullet the area it touches is much smaller and less room for variances. The bases of the bullets are not machined therefore not 100% 90deg. I found my variances for say 5 attempts are much smaller 😀

Hi, hope you guys are well. Im new in casting bullets but need to get more info on lead hardness. I have purchased a block of lead which I don't know the harness off. What can happen if I cast bullets with too soft lead on .308 . I want to quench with cast and powdercoat afterwards. Does this increase the strength enough of the bullet? Will a soft lead powder coated bullet be safe too shoot in 308? Thank you

Lead alloy needs to have Sb in it to harden weather its by water dropping or oven heat treating. Powder coating is a bit more forgiving as to the speed you can shoot the bullets compared to bare lubed lead. I think they should work just fine up to a point. It all depends on how fast you are wanting to shoot them.

Good thing you went with regular brass from Starline.... I got a bunch of nickel plated from Capitol Cartridge and my 6" Hunter throws those shells like 10 feet. Not that it worked perfect out of the box even with match Nosler.... so the gun took some tuning from Wolff.... but its good now! 200 grainer FMJ/TMJ.

Yep I use 7 in 10 and 460 Rowland. Very close to Longshot but I think Longshot is slightly better. I just don't have any. All my Rowland rounds are around 1300 fps except the 185 grain going 1600. But those XTPs are just toys at that speed. I have only 2 serious rounds. Coated 250 Acme hard cast (16 brinell... they rifle, are accurate, and are laser straight through water and leave no lead fouling). Which have to be resized. And also 240 XTP MAG hollow points which also have to be resized though... a special BRD die from Corbin swaging. Captured a couple..... they are gnarly! THICK jacket and hard cast lead core... but they hold together!

Great video, thanks. What are the dimensions of your steel target? Also that must be a previous model of the Bullseye camera, not the current SME-TGTCAM. Have you tested the latter and how does it compare to the one in this video?

Am I wrong or there is little to no difference between the smaller 6.5 Grendel and 7.62/6.8 Creed? That .338 though is a guy she tells you not to worrie about😂

Walter, did you readjust the eye relief on the cope after the new glasses? Also having done some of this I think some of those UFO shots would tighten up if you used a solid rifle rest rather than a bipod. Worth trying. Having consistent recoil behavior might help. One thing I also discovered is oddly the best load groups at 100yds might not shoot your tightest groups at 200 and beyond. You might try fine tuning loads at longe ranges like 200 or 300.

I carry 2 rifles on my ATV. A Mossberg MVP Predator in 7.62x51/308 and a Parker Hale #1200 300 Win Mag. I reload for both and only hunt moose where I live. Both rifles have never let me down and I have never wounded or lost a moose. Great video. Stay safe and happy shooting.
