The spotter instead of saying time ie: 3pm or 7pm and adjustments based on his scope mil dot or MOA in inches, what its at 100 yards should be the same at 1,000 yards just height adjustments and wind and humidity and drift of the bullet as well, based on what is used ?

I love Savage. Have the 12 LRP as well in 6.5 Creed, but it's now in an MDT HS3 Chassis and just put a Criterion Barrel on it after I shot out the factory one. Do you guys hold left for spin drift? I add about .75 moa left for windage at that distance for right hand spin drift. Also, something that helped me a ton was keeping both eyes open as I would eventually have issues with eye strain and constant pull through with the trigger after it breaks. Great shooting and enjoyed the video!

Do you have a preference for .260 Remington or 6.5 Creedmoor? I'm deciding on a bolt action in the .264 and am wondering which way to go. Everything I read thus far seems to call it a toss up with the .260 having a slight edge in velocity and the 6.5 Creedmoor being the better round for AR rifles. When you have a moment. Thanks!

Three years ago asked in these comments what the big deal was with the 6.5cm and got nothing. The 260 still holds the record for grouping at 1k but the 6.5 is somehow better with nearly identical ballistics. Since asking here I've learned the big hairy deal is barrel twist. The 6.5 stabilizes heavier bullets for better SD, wind deflection, which can come into play for hunting and will for extreme long range competition. Ultimately the 260 with 140 grain pill is great for hunting and I can't understand the 6.5 craze.

@GeorgiaBoy1961
@GeorgiaBoy1961 5 жыл бұрын
All three 6.5s you mention are good calibers. The 6.5 CM, being the most-modern, probably has an edge as far as being purpose designed for precision shooting, especially in terms of even ignition and burn, plus plenty of neck room for seating long bullets. However, the .260 has a modest advantage in case capacity, and you can make .260 brass by necking down .308 Winchester or necking up any number of smaller calibers. The 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser has the largest case capacity of the three, despite being the oldest, and although it is not well-known in the 'States or North America as a precision cartridge, it has been used in that capacity for more than a century in Scandinavia as well as in other parts of Europe, as well as an excellent all-around hunting round. Given the craze on currently for things 6.5 CM, it is probably easiest to obtain 6.5 CM brass over the others, but you can get .260 and 6.5 Swedish, too, so it probably boils down to which one you like the best.

Why is that? I now have a 10 round box mag on my Savage and I use it. Doesn't seem to impede my shooting at all.

HINT, that’s why we always use fluorescent paint colors to distinguish between the impact areas for on glass adjustments. Lastly with the velocity of the hot rounds along with the platform. 1000 yards and the MOA RANGE OF VIEW AND OPTICS. Should be on dope as if you were benched zero for 400-500. You should not be off nor your HOLD should give you the standard GROUP OF 3-5. Not even gonna get started with the wind to target from spot of delivery. Come on, put the DAM PLATFORMS OUT AS THEY ARE DESIGNED FOR. Shouldn’t be bragging on anything below 1800 meters. Or 2000 YARDS HELL 3/4 is a cold shot warm up.

Nick J. That Boyd's stock with the adjustable cheek piece option was just over $200 Not a bad price for and inexpensive after market stock. These were a 100% drop in stock. No modification needed. A lot of guys like to pillar and or glass bed them. More power to them. If I knew how to do that I probably would. They seem to shoot good right out of the box. Hope this helps you man.

Thanks, I was not able to find that exact one but that's probably me not navigating the site correctly ! I will continue to look, that is a really nice looking one. I'm used to buying AR style rifles so I'm not sure what action I would need for 6.5 or what brand of barrel and action combination to look for.

With the right scope, dialed in properly. You can hit a 1,000 yard target with a 30-30...

Fun interesting video, . Got a question or two. I'm getting a 112 this month, have you tried RL-33 powder? Also what bipod do you use on your 112? Thanks Bill

Bill Fletcher I have only tried H1000 and Retumbo. I think our bipods are Blackhawk.

All so. Shot a Hawks Ridge 1000 range for 6 years. Savage is the only way to go. They win all most every match in factory class. I had 6-5. 284 to 6 br. 6br was very accurate and cheaper to reload. Good luck
