I saw the outcome of this offseason ending up in one of two directions: we commit to the tank and trade Lauri for some future assets allowing Lauri to win now with a developed team, OR we decide to win and go as deep as possible into the post season signaled by the retention of Lauri and the addition of another important piece. But NEITHER of those happened.. so confusing.

Brandon Ingram supposedly wants a giant contract in the future (see the comparison to Anthony Davis), which is why teams didn't pursue him that hard. They could have trade for Murray given the compensation, but Danny and his precious draft picks...😀 At one point the 76ers were looking at a trade for him at the trade deadline so maybe he can still develop into the 3rd option?

I really don't like this narative that we let "player" down. I have a hard time thinking every player in the NBA has that drive for a championship. Sure. they would all like to have one. they would love to be a key part in getting it.. but the way it's talked about is that it's the most important thing to the players. I will admin there are some players that is true for, but these players are at the financial and skill level that makes other things not matter. But players often have other concerns that most likely play a bigger roll.. like Family/happiness, Like Money, I understand what is trying to be said. but the way we say things can often lead to others not understanding the context of things. I am sure Stoct/malones careers where a failure because they don't have a championship? I don't think so. they probably regret they are not playing now due to the money and I get that.

I think that a lot of people are overlooking the fact that we have a solid squad next season, Keyonte is shaping up to have a solid/good season. Hendrix also seams to have semi found is footing, Lauri will be Lauri and a lot of people have forgotten I feel how good he is and how lucky the Jazz are to have him, I believe ( bias to Utah fan) That Ainge would have already shopped Lauri if he didn't believe that we could make a run this season with him . Not only that but there are defiantly a few pieces that could have breakout years. anyway that was poorly written but Jazz are making the play in this season and Colin sexton MIP. ps: I love this channel to death

The majority of trades offers I've seen just were not worth it as the only one that offered a great 2025 pick was the Spurs and even then, no details on what was offered. Lets watch and see how the young guys develop, while I expect a lot of losing, that will be key.

This time you said something what is not quite right. Lauri WAS who he is BEFORE join jazz team. Eurobasket in that summer did proof that (and all Finnish fans already knew it). But Hardy did use him similar role what he was in our national team. Kudos to Hardy that he watch our national team games in that tournament and he did uderstand what kind of player Lauri really is. Reasons why Lauri wasnt that big role in nba before was simply horrible coaching in bulls and somewhat in cavs too. Bulls was total mess and in cavs he was like 4th option and mostly they kept him in the corner. Hardy was first coach who let him play like he can. Lauri do like Hardy because that and im sure that is big reason why he like to stay in utah. But im sure that most important reason is his family, its easier when all is set there and they dont need to move. However i would still like to see him in spurs team. Just for basketball reasons. He, Wemby and CP3 would be awesome to watch. Im not disappointed if he dont go in gsw because there is that psycho Draymond who hates european players. He hit them, stomp them and try strangle them. AND he have history punch his own teammtes too. I wonder what kind situation that would be for Lauri when there is guy who cant play nicely with european players. Its good thing if Lauri dont go there. Now i dont have to cheer them. Unfortunately if Lauri stays in utah, it means that i have zero reasons to watch any jazz games either. I refuse to watch team who try to lose as much they can. That is not sport anymore. Its fkn joke how teams will be rewarded for losing, it should be other way around. Last team should pick last, then this fkn tanking ends and nba become real sport league. i wonder why anyone want to pay so they can watch tank teams?

@@matthewrutters6842 yes there is. And yes they can pay him after getting rid of other players. The issue is they now will try to tank with someone that will want to keep their value up. So is Lauri supposed to sit out games? NBA has a new rule for that. Can’t do that. Fake an injury? So stunt his game for years waiting for the young crop? It doesn’t make a lot of sense. There is no point to it other than just to say we got to keep him for the fans? When you could be better off with a full rebuild? It’s counter to what the Jazz need to do.

Somehow i knew who you gonna talk abt before you said his name. Sexton was better last year, he was so good that even i start to like him. I didnt like him earlier but i do like him now. And like you said, he did played well with Lauri. Couple seasons ago Sexton never passed the ball, now he can do that and we all know that he can score. He is also quite fast on his feet, that helps him when he do drive and in defence too. Overall, he can be positive player even when he is not tall enough. One thing what i do kinda disagree with you is what you said abt Keyonte. Yes, he is better in shooting guard than pg. However i really doubt can he ever be on the court in winning team. He need to be better in both ends if he want to be positive player. But now is his second year, maybe he will be better. If not, he should be end of the bench. Maybe 10th guy or so if give him minutes at all.
