The glacier used to be right off their back porch, it wasnt always a drop off! Check out the book "born in kennecott." It was on the night stand at the kennecott glacier lodge where we stayed at. Mccarthy and kennecott are such a beautiful place to be in. Nice video

If you have the available space on your land I would suggest leaving them ground mounted. They are much easier to clean, work on, upgrade and you can also add a mechanism to angle them.

I hope to visit Alaska one day and see the northern lights! I remember when I was young kid some friends and family members were eating raspberries at the side of the road and they still tasted so nice. Brought back memories when watching this video and I they say blueberries are the king of superfluous! It's amazing how you can grow them and it's free food. Thanks for sharing the video!

It's good to see you again! You weren't popping up in my news feed and I decided I'd better go see what you were up to. I've been really busy lately and had stopped your video and intended to watch later. 😅 I guess KZfaq thought I didn't want to see you anymore. Extra nice video and your home 🏡 is absolutely beautiful ❤ Hope to see you again soon. 😉 Enjoy your summer. 😊 ❤🙏

Thanks for the info. A few questions. Do those plots near Tok have a lot of competition for the bids? You may say this in another video but do you mind me asking what you ended up buying your land for and how many acres? Did you have a well drilled? How deep was it? And do you have power on your lot or did you go solar?

But now you need a supply of diesel, which makes you dependant on public utility, and therefore no longer "off grid".

Ryan, you make everything you build look easy, great skills. It seems to be a busy life, living in Alaska enjoying the summer but remaining conscious of all the jobs that must be done in preparation for winter. I really enjoy when I see what your family are up to and you both helping them. Great example of family living and working together, needs to be seen in the dysfunctional society we live in. I can see the advantage of moving away from the city.

I really enjoy watching you guys "living" doing what you need to do to keep warm, fed and all the everyday stuff you have to do to survive in that climate, the building and all your projects a bonus. Great to see your daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren all involved learning the process and the lifestyle.

Oh man, before you fell I was thinking it crazy that you weren't using a climbing harness. Small investment, a little inconvenient, but it could save your life. Fortunately, the breed them tough in Alaska (lol).

Resilience, perseverance wins the day. I think you should have your branded t-shirts with your logo on the back and "Just get it done!" on the front. Awesome work guys, I can see Ryan is full of grit and Von the supportive calming influence behind him. Just as it should be. Well done to a huge effort with a fantastic result.
