Divide your TDS reading by 17.1 so 213/17.1 = 12.46, so rounded is 13 Grains. Your setting should be about 4698 Gallons. That's a little big for the house. It will probably regen every 20+ days. Even a 32,000 grain system would work in your household.
@MrBeeHS2 күн бұрын
Yes that is correct, but the 64,000 grain was on sale at Home Depot for the same price of the 32,000 grain, so I bought it. I do use a lot of water, just not for shower, but for purified drinker water and cooking as well and watering my inside plants. 😊

Great vid and I love it and your work style. However, with every transmission fluid change, do you have to change the pan and it comes with a kit? Also, I notice when I'm in neutral or just ideling - most of the time, it would say D2 and it freaks me out.
@MrBeeHS6 күн бұрын
Thank you so much. Yes! In this particular model, the pan and filter come with the kit. The filter is actually attached to the pan. It's kind of weird, in my opinion. Yes, sometimes the transmission stays in D2, which is 2nd gear. That happens due to what mode you are in. If you selected comfort mode, your transmission will stay in D2 or take off in second gear. However, if you are in sports mode, the transmission will start with D1, first gear. I hope this helps.😊

In general, you did a great job and thanks for the instruction and tips. I have the same '16 model and just about six days ago I went into the dealer for a Service B, which I did not wanted to and then the Aux battery decided to alarm and so I went in, they checked and said I needed to change the S-plugs. I saw the quote and decided to do it soon/later for I already paid $15xx. So, I just found your vid and would change the s-plugs myself. Not sure about the 'gapping' - what is that all about?

Hi, I spent a couple days following your video with my timing belt. The first time the marks were off because I couldn’t find the back mark to line up. I turned the car on, it ran, then there was a sound like a loose bolt and the car turned off. I took everything apart and started all over again making sure to line up each mark correctly. I couldn’t replace the water pump because the studs were stripped, but I changed everything else. Put everything back together still heard a sound as though a bolt was loose. The car will run then shut off. Now the lights turn on however the car will not start. Any ideas on what I can fix?

That's only half the job. 1. You forgot to drain about 4-5 liters from the wandler. In total, you only changed 30% of the oil. 2. Why did you clean the edges of the gearbox housing and then lubricate the gasket, it makes no sense. It's supposed to be dry there.
@MrBeeHS9 күн бұрын
You are correct! I wouldn't drain out from the torque coverter because you don't need to. This method replaced most of the oil in the transmission. Old habits cleaning the edge of the gear box. And yes, you want to indtall dry gasket.....that's another way as well. My method also works, just to let you know that. This car has never been to the mechanic shop or the dealership at all since in the showroom floor. I am the only mechanic who works on this vehicle. 👍

There are so many ways to work on the vehicles....there are nonset points that you are supposed to do this or that. There are AWAYS WAYS to get the job done. You don't have to perform everything by the book.....you just need to find ways to do it better and the results will be the same.
@lajsta9 күн бұрын
one thing: your method allows you to change at most 30-40% of the oil in this AT. The capacity of the system is 10 liters of oil. One small screw in the wandler will allow you to replace up to 80-90% of the oil and it does not require a lot of work.

Hi, I purchased a new house and it only came with a new aquasure water softener 48000 or 64000 there is just me and my wife.we have had egg smell ever since we bought it. The seller never hooked it up and I knew nothing about water softeners. Aquasure tech help told me to regen manually so for 6 months I kept doing it. The water hardness has been between 250 and 425ppm. In April of this year I added pre filter up and the sulfur eliminator.water hardness is still the same.I have been emailing back for weeks with Aquasure tech plumber, well company and sulfur eliminator people with the conclusion the softener tank may have lost most of the resin/is damaged Aquasure tech has me test regeneration and it is fine . Settings are at default 1000 gallons. My pressure tank went out, got new one. My sulfur eliminator runs water constantly because of the iron content. Everything I’ve tried hasn’t brought down the hardness at all. What do you think? Thanks
@MrBeeHSАй бұрын
Sounds like the water softener unit that you have is defective. If the system is not bringing down the hardness, then the unit is bad....in my opinion. The mechanism inside may not work properly. I would highly recommend you to buy the new system. The new system is fairly cheap now and sometimes you can catch it when it's on sale. I hope this helps and hopefully will help you solve the issues.

That's not the real reason my friend. 2nd gears ALREADY like that, it's not required learning. I've been riding for 10 years my friend. AND I already use different kind of oil out there that you can described. It's what you called experiment with oil that can help with bad transmission. Hey! Thanks for the video! Really appreciated. Just have a few questions. 1) In the video it seams as if you only used 5 quarts, I believe the kit comes with 10? Why is that? 2) What about the rear differential? Or the Torque Converter? Don’t we need to drain and refill them as well while doing this process? 3) From my understanding during the process once we fill the oil we need to switch the cap to position 2 so it leaks out the overfill if any, and we also need to do so after running the car so the transmission temperature is settled, I see you didn’t do any of that. So it’s not really necessary? Thanks 🙏🏼
@MrBeeHSАй бұрын
Yes, you are correct! I use only 5 quarts or the total amount that was drained. The rest are in the torque converter. The kit comes with 10 qts, but you don't have to drain it in the torque converter. You can definitely drain and fill the rear differential as well. It's up to you. The last one... you can do that as well. I know that I didn't do it because it's not necessary, in my opinion. This was my third service on this GLC300....the car belongs to my wife since it was on the showroom floor in 2016 and has never been to Mercedes dealership accept my shop...(my garage) 😄 I hope this help and I appreciate for watching my video.
