It might seem that way based on how I edited the footage. But trust me, Justin is a very good man and instructor. This is a highly competitive gym but safety is still very important to him.

white belts aren't "savage". they sandbag. those guys have been white belts for 5 years, should be blue or purple by now. believe me. the white belts sandbag.

KZfaq algorithms got me here. Showed up on my feed. No experience with the sport. Would you elaborate what you mean, please?
@eddiehazard3340Ай бұрын
"sandbagging" is a term in fight sports. it refers to the practice of entering beginner level contests, when you really have a lot more time in the sport as an intermediate. or entering intermediate contest, when you belong in expert level - etc. locally, the coaches actually make their students sandbag in many of the gyms. as a practitioner, at beginning level, you face up against some tough guys. if you are lucky, your coach prepared you well enough. if not, you get creamed.

folks, this is fine if you want a SPORT, but if you want to learn self defense, it's 10x faster to bear claw his face or drive a spear hand into his armpit, throat or groin.. yes, you DO have to train how to shape and use those weapons, or you'll hurt your hand and lose the chance to end the fight in half a second. if you learn front snapkicks to the bladder and stop kicks to the shins/knees, while covering up with your fists/forearms, you'll never be down there on the ground flopping around in the first place.

My friend I appreciate your comment. There is always more then one way to skin a cat. I would highly suggest though, that you test your theories at any willing MMA/BJJ gym to see if what your saying is true. Our gym, along with most gyms have open mat days where you can with a small fee and after signing a waiver you can test yourself. One piece of advise though , I wouldn't try to "Bear Claw" any trained athletes. Probably wont end well.😂 Thanks for your comment.

Play to your strengths and ALSO shore up those weaknesses! My jiu-jitsu improved tremendously when I started letting others work a bit. If you're always funneling partners into your game, you don't grow as fast... For example, if I have a 95% armbar, I can only improve by 5% BUT if my triangle is 10% I can improve it by 90%... If a black belt is a well-rounded player... Work those gaps! Great video 👍🏼

when you talk about the knee cut bit, so you recommend pommelling the leg in rather than using knee shield?
@Submission_Syndicate5 ай бұрын
I think that there's nothing wrong with a knee shield if that's your thing but technically your foot line has been compromised. The thought is that as long as your feet are in front of your opponent, you will always have a guard. Try it out for a week and let me know!
