The melee is definitely the best out of mecha games

Armored Core never really had melee until Fire of Rubicon. Some weren't thrilled about this if you recall when announced, but it definitely plays better than ZoE in some respects. Not as fast and frantic as you can overheat instead of keep up the attack and counter much as you can.

......A metal gear fan and Xenoblade fan, imagine what would if they collabed. Kojima isn't bound by Konami anymore. Imagine all the character building and occultism and philosophy of Xeno game, the political intrique and conspiracy of a Kojima game, with gameplay of a mecha hack and slash.

Kojima is actually bad at storytelling, the writers that went with him from Konami keep him on track, which explains Snake Eater. Xenogears is about the only one that reached real heights as far as narrative as Takahashi's wife was responsible for most of the story and why it veered off afterward. Then again, I suppose it depends on one's experience with narrative, what one reads and watches. Japan loves esoteric occultism as a norm and philosophy and you'll find it in many genres and popular IP.

Maybe we will see ZotE 3, I mean, considering AC6 making Fromsoft a decent pile of shekels other devs might want to try out whether Eastern Mecha (as opposed to slow and tanky western Mecha like Battletech) can get back into mainstream.

I think that would be the biggest reason mecha pops up again. Specifically zoe but we will have to wait and see considering ac6 is still relatively recent

There was a prequel in initial stages long ago not long after Second Runner, but it was cancelled or just abandoned. I've no idea if Konami would revisit it other than passing it off to a Western dev or make it some MTX mobile game.

This is the mech game that got right what a cock pit should be. Also this has one of my top 5 video game soundtracks. 2nd runner is on of the best mech games of all time.

Honestly the Cockpit thing reminds me of Turn A Gundam where the Loran literally sits in the Turn A's crotch area.

I played the collection on Xbox But I’m considering a ps4 just so I can play the second game on VR. Wish they would make more but without Kojima it ain’t worth it, when I get the chance I’m picking up ac6 to fill that mech void
