Nostalgia at its finest! That TCM (Return of/Next Generation) VHS is an interesting story. It’s initial limited release in ‘95 was originally titled The Return Of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Then after Zellweger and McConaughey became well known, they recut and re-released it widely in ‘97 with the new title.

For sure! And you’re not the only one who wasn’t aware of this. I actually didn’t know it was a thing until about 5 years ago!

The only way I’d feel good about doing it is if I had an RTI TapeChek machine. If I ever lose a really rare/valuable tape to mold, I’d give it a shot though. Have you cleaned them before? What method do you use?

Yeah, Pumpkinhead and the MCA Halloween II were destined for my private reserve VHS shelf…lol I didn’t have any trouble filling their spots though. My private reserve is maxed out at 112 tapes. I just need to alphabetize them now!

Thanks! Yeah, if I knew someone who set up a VCR as a cleaning station, I’d definitely give it a shot. Watched a video of someone with a nice cleaning setup, but after running it through it still didn’t remove it all. If one of my ultra rare VHS ever gets it, I probably would do something to try and save it.

The music is from the movie “Kolobos”……but it is in actuality an almost identical theme to that of “Suspiria”. 🤘🏻

I watched the video tape I had so often that I wore it out + bought the dvd in the end. The soundtrack really made the film with tracks like The Governess etc...Dare I ask who did this soundtrack..?? The composer for Kolobos was William Kidd. I don’t know if he just blatantly ripped off the “Suspiria” theme or was trying to do something else, but it is almost to close to be an accident.

That would be sweet! I know Halloween II and Halloween III were released on CED, but I’ve never found out if the original was….

@@movieandtoycollector13 a VCD isn’t a great format. It was usually just really pretty much VHS quality (only slightly better in some cases) on two CD’s I have about 15 VCD’s, mostly of some Hong Kong flicks. I have no idea if any of the Halloween films ever got VCD release. CED’s are the ones that had a laserdisc-sized disc inside of a case and you’d have to put the whole case into the player right? I’ve never seen one in action, only heard about how they worked.
