Yes, good call on the Moneypenny scene. That was simple yet effective. Just seeing her behind the desk plunges the viewer into her point of view. You feel the impact of Bond's resignation on Moneypenny. Michael Reed was no joke.

It has the same sort of cinematography as The Last Jedi. I was completely blown away by how beautiful this film looks.

@@Nicholas_Chen_ what? imagine comparing this great vintage film to The Last Jedi, of all things. sure, the cinematography might have been the only standout on it, but it doesn't hold a candle to the visual flair OHMSS displays, which is very inventive and distinct for its time.

Same here but my excuse was I saw OHMSS before I saw Dr. No, From Russia With Love, and Thunderball. Then when I saw OHMSS again I got the Easter eggs.

This puts to rest the goofy notion that James Bond is some codename for more than one person. He has in his personal possession all of the gadgetry from the previous missions/films complete with a musical interlude from those films as HE reminisces over each of them. (oh by the way the janitor at Draco's headquarters is NOT whistling "Moon River" its "Goldfinger"!!!)

The tombstones of Bond's family in Skyfall also proofs that James Bond isn't a code name. The only code is the number designated to him as a double 0 agent and that is 007. He could very well be 008 or 004 in an alternate universe or something.. Haha

The codename theory is, and always was, abject bollocks that doesntvstand up to even the slightest scrutiny.

We all know the type of people that believe in the codename theory are those victim guys, who live on social media, that want a black James Bond. You can tell they don't pay attention to the scripts and have only watched a few Bond movies. They always say ''James Bond is a codename'', just to give people hope that a black man can play James Bond. I've seen it on every post about ''Idris Elba next james bond?''. So annoying.

I'm not sure the fact he has a drawer full of (mostly) standard issue equipment ends the code-name theory. Also, whilst the codename theory may have been hijacked by those wanting a black/gay/transgender 007, it predates all that and has its origins in the 1967 spoof 'Casino Royale' and was subsequently used to justify (a) the "other fella" comment (b) 007 changing appearance three times in as many films and (c) 007 getting younger after AVTAK. For me, jury's still out on that theory but I don't see anything in this scene that disproves it. My preferred theory though - 007 is a Time Lord!

Why do MI6 also employ transferable codenames for office staff like Moneypenny and Tanner? If they are all different people, why does "Bond" always have exactly the same relationship with "Moneypenny" and "Tanner", even though it must be about a dozen different agents? Why do the CIA employ exactly the same "standard issue transferable codename" practice as MI6 for Leiter? And if they do, why is "Bond" always personal friends with "Leiter"? Given that the codename theory only exists to explain why Bond looks different when the actor playing him changes, does that also - by extension - mean that Brad Whitaker and Jack Wade are secretly the same character, because they're played by the same actor? The codename theory only exists to appease boring, literal minded people who think the fact that multiple actors have played the same part needs explaining.

It’s my favorite too. It just has so many elements that few Bond films since have been able to match. It has the best Bond girl, the best music, and the best version of Blofeld that’s both charming and terrifying. I know that Lazenby is probably the least talented actor to play Bond, but I would without question watch OHMSS multiple times over any of Brosnan’s Bond films.

“Becoming Bond” was great. George’s story is really fascinating.

I absolutely loved it. It was really cool to hear George’s story.

Easter eggs are suppose to be hidden. This is just call backs IMO and a way to establish Lazenby as the new Bond.

James Bond, even if the actors were different, was always the “same” man until Daniel Craig took over. This was never an issue lol. If you look the actors for Blofeld and Felix Leiter always changed too, but they’re still the same character in-universe.

Lazenby listened to his agent due to being a young inexperienced actor and didn’t do well with the pressures and demands of playing Bond and had quite a contract that caused falling out with producers due to his inexperience and youthful cockiness on set and being very difficult to work with. Lazenby told the press he was leaving the role and could get more work without Bond.

Originally George Lazenby was supposed to return for Diamonds Are Forever but Lazenby turned in his resignation to leave the role of James Bond before pre production even began on Diamonds Are Forever and several actors were sought for the role including Roger Moore who couldn’t do it as he was busy with his tv show then. They got Connery to finally return after offering him $1.2 million.

@@scottknode898 I would have loved to see Lazenby do another film. But I feel like it worked out in the end because had Lazenby decided to do Diamonds they would have changed the ending of OHMSS. They wouldn’t have killed Tracy at the end of OHMSS. but instead they would have killed her during the pre-credits scene in Diamonds. Which while still a sad death, it wouldn’t have the same gut-punch as it does at the end of OHMSS. But that’s just my opinion.

@@Hithere-ek4qt Nonsense. On Her Majesty's Secret Service is the best film in the franchise. Not the best Bond adventure but the best in terms of cinematic language. The camera work is far more sophisticated than usual, there's enough depth of character to make the film melodramatic without compromising the integrity of the characters, and Lazenby's lack of experience meant that Bond exhibited a vulnerability that character lost after the first film. Of the twenty plus Bond films, I place On Her Majesty's Secret Service at number three. The film has never been surpassed.

He looks older then Brosnan Dalton and Moore when they started strange guess he aged differently then them more mature look at that age looks mid thirties for sure Lazenby

Conventional wisdom dictates that Connery would have been a better fit but I doubt it. He was sick of the role in You Only Live Twice so I doubt he would have turned in a fine performance in this film. Also, he never would have exhibited the emotional vulnerability Lazenby did.

Ricardo Cantoral your right and Connery later said he wished he could have done On Her Majesty’s Secret Service instead of You Only Live Twice.

Bond here is a mature man with experience, like the actors in the other roles. Doesn't need to exhibited Lazenby's emotional vulnerability. Connery and Rigg would be like him and Bardot in ''Shalako''.

Personally I don't think so but, alot of people will agree with you.

It may not be my favourite but this is a very good choice for a favourite. One of the best in the series.

The Craig movies were always called a reboot, they never claimed to share a timeline with the others.

His inexperience as an actor didn’t help as never made a film before when played Bond and he later said he never received any acting tips on how to do the role but producers and director didn’t like Lazenby and found him overly cocky and difficult to work with.

Yes, but in fairness he wasn't an actor prior to this film, just a Male model, who was a huge Bond fan and wanted the part. He lied his way into the role, in a way only Bond could have done, and he will always have my respect for that!
