Hey!! Thanks for the video!!! Great!!! You didn't have to compress the spring?? That is what kept me from doing mine, but if you don't have to compress it. I definitely gonna replace my own,
@r2c4796 жыл бұрын
if you replace it as the full strut assembly you do not need to compress the spring thats why i do it this way aswell!

Sweet video! But I was wondering, what brand of struts did you use? I just want some good quality ones to replace my old ones. Thanks again!

thanks man sorry about the poor camera angle this was my first upload they got/are getting better though. but i dont remember the exact brand i went with but i do know it was oem i wana say this one is a acdelco one, but monroe and moog also reputable brands that make quality suspension parts

Hey, thanks for the video. The steering knuckle on my 2000 Grand Prix does not go down far enough to line up with the 2 strut bolts. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.

Make sure to lock up the top three nuts before locking in the bottom studs. I found it impossible to reposition the rear when they fell out of their holes. I had to take out the bottom studs AGAIN.

When I unhooked mine, the strut is now hanging half way of the cv/bearing assembly hole, how do I get it up to the knuckle for mounting

Use a jack

Is the strut alum or just the knuckle

Why take the brake components off? Lol
@patmcc243 жыл бұрын
to keep from stretching and damaging the brake line
@TTime6853 жыл бұрын
@@patmcc24 All you gotta do is make sure the line is not taut by supporting the hub\caliper with a jack stand, brick, block of wood, etc..

Most other videos don't show removing the caliper and rotor to do this
@r2c4795 жыл бұрын
yes it maybe possible to do this job without removing them, but for the sake of busted knuckles and headaches i find it easier to just get them out of my way. i also had a poor camera angle for this job limiting what you guys can see me doing here and those being in the way would have made it that much worse, but i do believe your right it would be possible to get'er done without removing them

And this works for all four assemblies?

Alex Asfeld not exactly the rear will be different but there are similarities

Will 2007 and 2005 struts work on different Grand Prix
@r2c4793 жыл бұрын
Greg Church I do believe the last two gens are interchangeable but I’m not positive as I’ve not personally worked on one before 04 first hand

Your comment may be 2 years back, but stupid never changes and if you can't figure this job out with the video here, you damn sure shouldn't be working on ANY vehicle. You're the type of idiot that fucks things up and leaves it for the next guy to deal with after you sell the car because you're too stupid to repair it.
