Janie Lane's one of the most underrated song writers of HIS generation. Mad talent!

Can`t stand how they make Jani less important. He was an addict but with drugs, booze and problems, he was the one that make Warrant a known band. 95% of the songs they play live were written by him. They should be more respectful. Thanks to him they still have a way of living.

I saw these guy's guy's playing in a smaller club in Columbus Georgia in 1994 , I was stationed at near by fort Benning ...the place was called the roadhouse ...what I remember about that night was not so much the performance (they were real good) but at the end of the night they partied with about 15-20 of us fans in the back room ...and how cool ALL of those cats were ...smiling , laughing , taking pictures , 3 years before they were selling out arenas ...and now playing at the lame roadhouse ...but you would have not known it , they were so gratious , upbeat , and polite .

I love how he just goes for the cheese... late 80's power ballads (bank that), get in on the tech bubble (ca-ching!), try to get the group back together around 2000 like EVERY other band on the planet

Good stuff here. I saw them open for Poison and blow them off the stage here in Cleveland, Oh. on 11-29-90 and then Warrant headlined back here in Cleveland on 7-11-91 w/Firehouse & Trixter opening and again they were great. Firehouse & Trixter were really solid too. R.I.P. Jani.

Lots of great memories living in the Philippines listening to Warrant and watching their DRFSR video over and over. Glad to see these guys doing well.

Warrant is still awesome in 2020. They will kick your ass live they are fantastic. The lead singer Robert Mason along with the rest of the band spot on.

the rock (or grunge) from the 90s was insanely depressing compared to the partying of hair metal of the 80s. just a brutal difference. drug of choice in the 80s was coke - a party drug. drug of choice in 90s was Heroin a strong out drug one step away from suicide

These guys are lucky that their debut album came out in 1988 rather than say 1990 or 1991 otherwise they would have a lot less money than bands like trixter or steelheart

Iam stating the obvious Jani Lane was the heart & soul of Warrant. Jani's music / Jani's songs Jani's voice. Jani Lane was the heart & soul of Warrant. The replacment singers that Warrant have had over the years pale in comparrison to Jani's unique original singing voice. No one has since matched Jani's vocal range. RIP Jani Lane. ❤

Great overall rock band. Janie was an above average singer not the greatest but he made up for it with his phenomenal song writing. Of all the greatest rock singers I don’t think any can match Janies songwriting.

The smart way to deal with music trends is to be in one band that has several kinds of identities - like every other year do like a different kind of music style with a different band name and identity - like Savatage had side project of Trans-Siberian Orchestra and that took off bigger than anything Savatage ever did.

I worked with Joey at G&L guitars in the mid 90's

Their music was mostly pap and as such they didn't have any longevity. If they had moved on from the bubblegum they would have done well

Why do these guys always refer to the alt-rock scene as "I wanna kill myself". That's so weird. He's wearing a Johnny Cash shirt who wrote some pretty damned depressing songs while saying that lol. Why do they never see that what really happened was that the 90s brought in new young people who weren't raised on that stuff and after the Rodney King thing and the police arresting N.W.A. for lyrics, music as art got a little bit serious? People didn't suddenly change their minds about rock and roll. They kept loving it. It's just that they got responsibilities and kids and mortgages and such and a new group of kids started buying CDs. Sure when I was 12 in the 90s, bands like Warrant and Winger looked a little ridiculous to me. But as we got older, we went back and began to appreciate their insane levels of musicianship and even began to copy them through bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet For My Valentine. We respect and love these 80s bands. I think they all just took it the wrong way because the MTV and CD buying demographic changed from their core fans averaging 5-years-to-30 and doing different things with their disposable income and a new group of 12-18 year olds discovering music. If anything I would blame our youth worshipping culture that thinks new music is only for kids and once your not a kid anymore its out with you and in with new. They were victims of marketing. You wanna beat the system? Be David Bowie or Prince or Rush or Nine Inch Nails. You will kill through your career because you aren't tied to a sound or decade. These guys seem like they're really cool. They should experiment and be unafraid to try new things.

The grunge era ended not because of trends but because Cobain killed himself and the other bands broke up. Pearl Jam is still going strong. 80s music was vapid and comparing it to 90s is apples and oranges.

God I hated this band, especially Cherry Pie. It was like Glam Rock for nerds. Kinda like when nerds started piercing their ears and getting tattoos, made it less cool or edgy. No denying these guys were huge. They look like they are doing well for themselves though.

cmon .... warrant got a lot farther than they actually should have .... they reminded me of the temptations of bubble gum with their stupid choreography and matching uniforms and the music and vocals were tame , chick rock at the most , and you guys got laid ..... you guys did great with what you had , everybody knows who you are and you made money .... so just stop crying

Let's face it, they were a pop star band. Nobody really into rock music ever thought they were legit. That's the wall, the band essentially sucked.
