So odd that these guys do not understand they were just a cover band back then. Jani wrote the songs.. these fools were so sh*tty they needed someone to record the solos so they weren't laughed at when the records came out.. Take a listen to any of the live sets prior to the release of the first album.. The solos are cringe worthy at best.. just horrid.. I wouldn't be this harsh in my comments if they clowns actually acknowledged Jani in the degree of respect he deserves.. they would truly be nothing without Jani.. NOTHING.. Unlike the Skid Row situation, at least the other guys wrote the songs, and maybe, just maybe, they may have had some sort of career without Sebastian.. But, the Warrant guys, they wouldn't have done squat without Jani.. Maybe they should have tried helping and supporting him instead of talking about him as if he was a burden and that they were doing him a favor letting him back into the band..

@@stankakol5195 I have watched dozens of interviews with these 2 ass hats. They dismiss Jani all the time as if he was this bit player.. Like some dude that was in the band for a while, didn't really contribute much, and we are so much better off without him.. At least in all the other bands where the lead singer died due to overdose or suicide (AiC, Soundgarden, Quiet Riot, etc etc.) the band knows who made things possible.. not only that, they acknowledge the huge weight that was on the shoulders of the front man.. Jesus you a*sholes, maybe you should have helped out Jani instead of being so selfish.. they kicked him out of the band on multiple occasions thinking a drunk Jani was a nuisance .. and focused on how much dough they could make playing the songs Jani wrote with another singer.. total tools.. and, total tools without any talent whatsoever.. How a guitar player can look themselves in the mirror each morning knowing they sucked so bad, they needed another guitar player to record the solos on their records?

So many haters on here, it really bums me out. So another guitarist played the guitars, or the leads on the first albums BIG FUCKING DEAL! Maybe Mike Slamer was an awesome guitar player who played great leads and maybe that was the smart thing to do, have him play the leads or rhythm or whatever. WHO FUCKING CARES. Get over your hate or your jealousy. Go see a fuckin shrink for God's sake. It was fun and catchy music. They made a name for themselves. They made money. They achieved a goal every musician dreams of. I've watched all these interviews and these guys were super honest and fascinating. I didn't see any disrespect. IM SURE they are aware Jani carried them to stardom, they seem bright enough to me.

Its complicated. All these guys have families to support, we all need income. While Jani was a big creative force in the band, he didnt follow through on his committment to these guys in the reunion. You have to deliver, even if you are Jani Lane, and he let them down. They had no choice but to move on from him. Everyone has to deliver the goods. Memories dont pay the bills. We all love Jani, but in the end, he made his own bed. Sad.

@@stankakol5195 You dont have to "buy it" Stan, its verified fact. Bobbie Brown said the same thing in her book. And in fact, she adds that he cheated on her when they were married (with a small daughter). Who cheats on his wife and daughter? Pathetic. Jani, for all his musical talents, developed a huge ego and a huge sense of entitlement. Lets face facts, the last 10 or 12 years of Jani's life was a disaster. He blew it on so many fronts. I enjoy his music too, but I wouldnt give him a free pass on everything because of his music ability. He's 6 feet under because he couldnt cope with the changes of life as we all do. Facts are facts.
@manololluch5148

I understand the commitment, the families to support. But the thing is that you should be respectful for someone who's talent and creativity give you a way of living. Besides that, he is dead now, he suffered a lot. I guess that there is no need to talk like that about him. If you have nothing good to say about Jani, just be quiet. But they are being assholes, like he was just the singer who was always drunk. He was the main force in warrant. He made them a known band. Otherwise they would be in an office chair or a convenience store. He earned that respect.

granted we weren't there, but these guys (as much as I love them) seem so cocky about the whole story, considering they have made a life playing the songs written by Jani. I'm sure there is a lot of hurt and pain that he caused because of his disease, and I acknowledge that there is a lot that has probably never come out, but they also seem to not have a lot of respect for him.

People bashing Erik and the other Warrant members but who knows what went on behind closed doors. I mean sure they would've loved to sing with him again but Jani had demons. Not hard to understand. Jani seemed like a sweetheart at times and I think was a lost soul but the bottle always seemed to win with him.. and in the end it cost him dearly.. Sure he could sing his ass off but if he wasn't showing up when scheduled, the band could be liable, to say the least.. No great singer is worth that much apparent aggravation. So sorry and sad that Jani couldn't beat his demons.. RIP...

Everyone has their right to their opinions. I love Warrant whether it is with Jani, Jaime, or Robert. Probably the main reason why Jani was basically booted from the band was he couldn't get his drinking under control which unfortunately lead to his untimely death. Would you want a bandmate in your band who is drunk all of the time? As much as I loved Jani I gave Robert a chance and he is awesome. You also have to remember that Jani was not the only one who was Warrant the other 4 band members also made Warrant a success.

@@annetteslife It was worse than that. Multiple times in the 90s after they had been dropped by their label, Jani told them he wanted to tour, then at the last second pulled out. It wasnt just that he battled alcohol, he jerked these guys around terribly, when they needed that tour income to support their families. Plus Jani made more in the band than the rest of the guys. They arent mad at him for just being an alcoholic, they are still mad at him jerking them around terribly in the 90s saying "lets get a tour going", then when it was largely planned, he pulled out last second. Much as I love Jani's music, he jerked them around bad in the 90s. Some also allege he always held it over their heads that he could go solo, and didnt really need them. You cant mess with peoples income, esp when they have families to support and mouths to feed. Not cool.... Ive heard ALOT more stuff went down than has been made public.

@@Bridging_the_Political_Divide but I like I had said everyone has the right to their own opinion. Like I had said I listen to Warrant it is with Jani or with Robert. Just like I had said rest of the guys are just as talented as Jani was and that Warrant was not just about Jani it was about the band as a whole. It was sad to see that Jani had an addiction that spiraled out of control which ultimately lead to his sudden and untimely passing. Would I ever stop stop listening to Warrant with Robert fronting the band? Absolutely not! The new record is awesome! Is Robert the new Jani? Absolutely not! And is Robert trying to copy Jani's style? No not a chance, Robert does have a unique sense of style that he brought to Warrant.
