There's a creepy rumour following the 1989 game Taboo: the Sixth Sense around, and I've been fascinated by it. So I thought I'd share it with you.
Developed by Rare, it's probably one of the worst games in their roster. Ever. Although it barely passes as a game.
No offence is meant to anybody who believes in the divination power of tarot cards. This video is just meant to be taking the mick out of the game.

... I remember renting this (well, my mom renting it specifically, I was like 11).11 year old me was bored to tears, but I remember even then the media stuff going around about the 'spookiness' of this game. IIRC I played it for a few hours hoping for something cool, and being (shockingly) disappointed.

20:37 I used a tool called YYCHR to take a look at the textures in the game's rom. Near the fonts and the cursor is also a skull. But I don't know if it is used in the game.

Great video! There's an Italo Calvino novel called "The Castle of Crossed Destinies" or "ll castello dei fati incrociati" where a load of travellers have to use the Sforza Tarot deck to tell their stories. It's good fun. There's also a French card game called Tarot which has its own special (and pretty!) deck of cards... but not the same as proper Tarot. And welcome back!

I do hope you continue with the funny skits and characters. That stuff really sets your channel apart from the others. Great video, wondeful to have you back. Well researched piece, I had no idea Rare had made such a game in their NES era. I suspect we'll never know how much money Rare lost making this title, especially if you factor in release model for 3rd party Nintendo developers.

What a 'game' you've picked to hit us up with! Strange coincidence that I only came across this on my NES emulator a couple of weeks ago. Me and my parents (adults only right?!) took great amusement in taking turns for our readings and comparing the outcomes. I never knew about the cursed part though.
