Is your central air conditioner blowing hot or warm air and not cooling down your house? There is one easy fix you can try that may make your AC cool the house like a champ again! Blow cold air and actually get down to the temperature you set it to. The easy solution is to clean and wash the condenser unit outside, inside and out.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
❄️ Here is a video with the full list of why a central air conditioner may not be cooling enough. 20 possible causes:
• AC Unit Not Cooling Ho...
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
🧩 A hint on how to solve the puzzle at the the end of the video:
Look closely at the clock digits/ the number of Bananas/ sides of the hexagons.
The answer is not 19, 26, 35, 50, 67, 135, 165, or 225
If you give up and just want the answer, it's at the bottom of the description 🙂

🧩 Puzzle Answer:
There are 4 things to notice:
- Clock time is 2 o’clock not 3 o’clock
- There are only 3 bananas compared to 4 in other equations
- Hexagon has missing square shape
- There is multiplication between Bananas and Hexagon
2(2 o’clock) + 3 (3 bananas) + 3 (3 bananas) X 11 (11 edges)
2 + 3 + 33 = 38

Heat index is 109 degrees out right now. Just got back home from a work trip and asked the wife if the AC feels like it’s not cooling. She said it felt fine this morning, but I knew something was off. Thermostat was set to 75 but inside temp was 80. This was the first video I came across. I did it exactly as you instructed. Kicked the breakers back on and BAM! Instant cold air coming into the house. Oh what a relief. Great video!

I thank God I ran across this video.. I will be doing this for the 1st time and I will also be oiling the fan motor. I'm scared but your easy-going voice and your video explained in detail and showing me where everything is gives me much more confidence. I'm in San Antonio and it's very hot and humid here. Plus I have a heart condition and I've been in my house with it 89 degrees for the past two days with no AC.

Thank you! There are a lot of HVAC companies that do not have the competency to share what you have in your videos. So glad I found your channel! It would do a lot for the HVAC industry if they required their contractors to watch your videos. I had a contractor make a repair and burn my outside unit up. I have a 5 yr old system now and just had a tune-up, now it is running poorly. He probably messed something up. I am afraid to call an HVAC company to look at it. I will trouble shoot following your tips. Thanks!

I can not thank you enough for this video. Today is 109 and yesterday I noticed the ac not blowing cool air and it was squeeling. We tuned it off and hosed down the outside (that was definitely clogged) It got down to 67 this AM and we bumped the thermostat up to 69 as it was a little too cool. It took a good 12 hours for it to cool the house from 79 to 67. You saved me!

A lot of HVAC maintenance is just keeping everything clean. And if you don't keep everything clean, the system may stop working or will have to work harder so the components will fail. Keep it clean including the blower fans inside the furnaces, the condensation PVC pipes and the flame sensor and just everything.

these seem like good points but definitely turn the power off before removing the fasteners that attach the fan motor and cage to the unit! if it would have kicked on and started spinning before you turned the disconnect switch off it could have done some damage to the unit or someone near it.

Thanks for the video Jay! I have a weird thing going on with our ac unit. 99% it works/sounds fine but sometimes and only after it has been running for hours continuously. Sometimes we hear a thump and then a much louder buzing noise afterwards. It seems still to be working but I typically just shut it off and back on in 30 minutes and it then sounds normal again. It looks like it's coming from the outside unit. And maybe the compressor? I know the blower fan looks fine when this has occurred.

Mine is doing this rn. Now it's not blowing hard enough. Did u find out what it was?
@bradfordvandam3472
@bradfordvandam3472 Жыл бұрын
@@alyssakdiaz9290 I'm not an expert but I have a good idea of what it might be. It's probably the AC motor on the condenser if its an outside unit. There are a ton of videos on how to replace a condenser motor and its super easy! Before removing any wires on your condenser make sure to take pictures first so you can remember exactly how to put the wires back. Make sure to shut the power off! If you wait to long to replace this motor your ac will over heat and the condenser will be dead. An A/C motor can cost $300-$700 depending on the size or your unit ton. Replacing everything according to 2023 can be very very expensive. I love this video because it taught me how to clean the condenser which is critical. I recommend spraying the ac condenser with a special condenser cleaning spray. Spray the condenser and let it work for about 5 minutes and then hose down.

Hi Jay! Your videos have saved me tons of time and money! I love your explanations! Thank you so much for all you do!! Question: My A/C recently lost power. We had a tech come out and he told us it was a bad control board. He replaced that and we still had no power. I did some research and found out that we actually had a bad transformer. So I switched out the 24v transformer supplying power to the control board. Voila! We got it running again! Unfortunately, now it on works in the “ON” position and not on “AUTO”. Also if I run it in the on position, the blower fan will turn off after a few minutes. I’m hoping the “tech” that came out didn’t mess something up or wire the control board incorrectly. Could my thermostat be the problem? Any ideas?

I learned recently that yes they get dirty and don’t even look like it. Even on units that are no where near vegetation.

I use a filter screen specially made for outdoor condensers (purchased from Amazon). I take the screen off once a year and wash it. I also have a larger mesh screen on top to keep leaves out. During the winter, I use a solid cover on the top and take the screens off.

I always tell people it saves money on the electric bill (which it does) to try to motivate them to keep it clean. It also makes the compressor last longer since it doesn't run as hot. I hose mine off probably 3 times a season.

Hi and thank you for the video. I have a vicious problem with my AC. I have one unit that is split between 1st and 2nd floor with a thermostat in each floor. If I turn both thermostats on, the AC works for a short time then stops. Then temperature starts rising without the unit kicking back on. When I turn one thermostat on, and the the 2nd one off, the AC works longer then stops and won't turn on again, then temperature at the house will keep rising. What I do, I turn off the thermostat that was on and turn on the other thermostat upstairs that was initially off. The unit will start working again (sometimes not) works for sometimes, then it stops. Then temperature rises without the unit kicking back on. So, I turn it off then turn on the downstairs thermostat. This is a temp solution, but does not work all the time. I do not know what to do. The unit still works. The freon level is good. Have you had similar issues? Thank you for your help. Zak

Our ac seems to not go below 73. Even before this heat wave, it wouldn't go below even though I have it set to 68. Also seems to be hitting 78 as the sun goes down, I'm guessing from the humidity. I nest changed the filter and still acting this way. Anything else I could try?

Hey Jay, My AC isn't blowing cold air just blowing air. I don't get 24 volts to the thermostat or the outside unit. I checked the Zone Control Card EWC-ST-2D and I get no voltage to the Y wire. So I think its this card thats the problen. Should I just replace it or try to fix it?? TIA
