This is how I finish concrete for a small concrete floor. When the finish needs to be smooth on a floor this small, I usually just finish the surface by hand using a mag and steel trowel.
I don't need a power trowel because the size really doesn't justify it. I'll use my set of sliders to move around on the surface and work my way from one end to the other.
Finishing concrete is about knowing how to time when to start and how fast or slow you need to go when you're troweling it.

Thank you for the thoughtful explanation. So much can change about how concrete responds, the time of day, sun or shade, ambient temperature, slump, PSI, size of the aggregate, ect.. Over the course of your videos you have shared so much of your knowledge and experience. It has been and is very helpful. As you have pointed out, nothing replaces having your hands on the tools.

I've been in the concrete business for 22 years driving a concrete truck in georgia. And I admire your finishing skills alot. I've seen alot of good finished conrete but I just think your level of finishing is very unique, your finish work looks as smooth as a baby's bottom. Keep up the good work. I can already finish concrete but I'm still learning alot about how to do it the professional way. So, thank you for always having time to show us what good finished concrete is supposed to look like...#1 teacher👍👍👍

Here in Montana with our concrete we never just mag the slab. If we hit it by hand we will hit it once with a mag and steel trowel and then hit it again with two steel trowels. Usually a small scrubbing trowel and a 20 inch finish trowel. As and old school finisher I don't use round tip trowels very often.

This is great thank you. Where I live there are no concrete trucks any pointers for the hand mixing guys. We typically run two or three small mixers any tips I know there are a bunch of us watching that just drool when that truck starts unloading

Do you ever use a mag float to finish driveways and walkways? In Pittsburgh it seems the standard is to mag a swirl pattern with only commercial guys doing broom finish.

For a 20 x 20 storage, would 1 pass with the trowel be enough or would be better, and would you do a broom finish or just troweled?

Nice job here in Pittsburgh Pa not allowed to use a pool trowel in the Union ,called cheating as per Union lol.Personally I use 24×5 finish trowel

Absolutely..... if you want a nice finish in your work shop/ garage ... Just make sure you use "real" two part epoxy not the crap from Lowes or Home depot should run you about $130.00/40 per can if it is the good stuff
