I totally agree with the not being able to eat it everyday. I used to be on the Keto diet and would have steak and eggs every morning for breakfast. You get tired of steak real fast. No matter what cut, where it’s from, or the price, nor how it’s cooked.

It's not close. A dry aged prime rib eye doesn't come close. Japanese Wagyu is at the top by itself then about 4,748 miles down the road is everything else.

Cool experiment, really like the idea. However, that is a quick-fry pork chop.......not a steak. It would be awesome to see this experiment redone with a cheap steak, maybe a chuck eye (poor mans ribeye) or sirloin steak.

You should get the same cut of each level of steak (choice, prime, etc), cook then all the same, and blind taste test trying to order them correctly. Test your palate and see which cut is really worth the money. Think it would make for a cool video

I have a philosophy, I would have more respect to the person the made the cheap steak than the person who cooked A5 wagyu. The person who cooked the cheap steak and made it taste good probably put more effort to make it taste good rather than someone who cooked wagyu which already has amazing flavor before you even cook it. If he has the time to be bothered I'd kind of like his opinion on my opinion in response to this. I think the cheaper piece of meat that tastes good isn't doing the meat any justice most of the time. It's all about the seasoning at that point. I believe that's a different competition vs the actual taste of the meat.

Trying to save up enough money to get some Japanese A5 Wagyu from Crowd Cow. My dad just got a smoker grill, and he made ribs that were exactly like the ribs from SweetWater Tavern. Its only cause he's getting it there in the states. If you got that same cut of meat in Japan it would probably cost half as much. However legitimate A5 grade Japanese wagyu is a luxury for those who can afford it. Obviously its not something you would eat every week or even every month, but once in a while on a special occasion is definitely worth it.
