I’m against achievements that require multi-player in general. If someone has crappy internet, or (like me) hates interacting with 99% of people, I won’t be climbing any ranks, or playing a certain amount of matches with random people.

The most impossible achievement is in Left 4 Dead. The "Nothing Special" achievement requires all players to take no damage from special infected thru an ENTIRE campaign

The Hellboy achievements are listed on True Achievements. Complete Chapter 7 Complete Chapter 8 Complete a MP Chapter with Lobster on XBL Get 25 kills with the Flamingo Despite not ever being released, people have unlocked them ac ordinary to the site.

Divinity Original Sin 2 "Hammered" Achiement is possible with one more trick actually, and I am not sure if it counts as glitch or not. In Divinity 2 player can throw bozes and chests to enemy during fight and damage inflicted is proportional with its weight. So you bypass the initial encaounter with Hammer at the gate of prison and explore island to find as many heavy objects as possible like (big potreits weight 50) and put them in a chest with very high hp, you can one shot hammer with it. I took tahat achievement with this trick.

not technically "impossible" but Kingdom Hearts (1) has a trophy for collecting every gummiship blueprints, and in my case either my game glitched or i seemed to encounter missable prints. been sitting at 99% on the PS3 trophy set for years

WoW also had a formerly possible achievement surrounding defeating one of the faction leaders. But for the longest time, even the strongest guilds in the game with maxed out characters and equipment couldn't dream of getting past the first layer of immortal guards to reach them.

I loved that ESO got a mention. I've not been dedicated enough to go after the Emperor achievement, I find PvP difficult, however I have killed a current emperor and some previous emperors before. I stopped playing ESO sometime last year, but I had some good times.

I managed to get emperor back in the day in eso. It was no picnic but the powers it granted was awesome. Thanks to the pvp server I was on dying I got the title still whenever I login.

Never chased 100% or achievements. It is fun when I get a rare one, which happens, well, rarely, but will probably never platinum a game. Knowing that takes the pressure off.

The Fight Night achievement/trophy was a pain because there was a group of players that hoarded it for a while. They would trade the championship back and forth and charge people money to fight them. Occasionally they'd pass it off to a dummy account. Now it's truly impossible though since the servers shut down in 2020.

I didn't use a glitch to kill the hammer I just used a box that weighed like 3 or 4k and it was a one hit kill

They actually used to have gamerscore challenges where the cap was like 10k gamerscore for 10k reward points. Unfortunately it seems they stopped those.

As someone else said before they did have something similar to this before, but it was only for a limited time and was capped. Sadly Microsoft Rewards will probably be cancelled out completely by the end of the year, seems just about every week they shave off something else from it, I give it a year before they just outright cancel it.

I was #1 on the Quake 4 Leaderboards years ago. Was a very dull grind. I imagine the only people still going for it are those that need it. Though at one point there was a guy who kept boosting his score to make sure no one passed him like in Lynch and Kane

Eso player here: being emperor only requires the the emp keeps( those keeps at the inner circlr), not all of the keeps. The hardest part is to be the top 1 player in the server you play, but it can be managed a bit when play in low population server. Not saying that it is easy but it is the most managable achievement I see in this list

As someone who has emperor I can confirm this statement. It's certainly no easy task but can be made easier in lower population campaigns. Never attempted any others on the list but Emperor does seem to be the easiest of them.

I have the emp achievement as well. Played for a year before I got it. It wasn't too bad. For me it was a lot of repair on walls and also negotiations with other alliance leaders to get it and then cease fire and let the next emp take the keeps. It was kinda like a real life emperor negotiation with other alliances.

Low population server, dedication and off hours from the main conflict, yeah. It usually took dedication to hit the perfect timing, and was something you had to angle specifically towards getting. Never hurt if you liked farming the daily quests there at odd hours when other folks weren't around much.

You don't need to clip through the wall for the Original Sin achievement. Just need to be undead and go quickly.

I only attempted the Quake 4 multiplayer achievements way back on the Xbox 360 version. I had a small group of boosters and a plan. They all quit due to boredom and that was that 🤣

I once set a personal goal to get at least 1 achievement every day for an entire calendar year just because, after i did it i was disgusted with achievements and stopped caring about my gamerscore for games, just enjoy the game and screw achievements

You totaly can lvlup telekinesis and get up to 2 barrels if you just click fast enough or you can have Dallis locked in a fight with your companions and infinetly resummon your incarnate outside the fight to lob rocks from the wall.

Feels like stuff like the boxing game one should be adjusted for how popular the game actually is. If you get the champion title you should have to defend it, like, if you don't play the game for awhile or you turn down a certain number of challengers in a specific time frame, the title goes to the guy in the #2 slot or whatever. The way it is, it sounds like there's always the chance that whoever has the title at the moment will NEVER lose it by virtue of NEVER playing the game again.

Here I was thinking I was a badass for getting the achievement for beating all the time trials on the crash bandicoot 1 remake, then I watched this video and realized I've accomplished basically nothing compared to some of the achievements listed here!

I am so close to earning the Platinum Trophy for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth which seemed like the Impossible when I first started the game. Even three quarters of the way through the game it seemed like a platinum I would never earn. This is definitely one incredibly hard game to 100%! Johnny's damn curio 88 🏆 trophy/achievement display to be specific!

As a completionist...it almost spoils the experience for me...I end up reading guides and walkthroughs before my first playthrough and more often than not, it kills a lot of the immersion for me. Finding it hard to play a game for the game rather than that sweet, sweet 100% 😢 In a word...sux

An honorable mentionsl should be Brütal Legend. I cant remember the exact name of it, but tje stipulation to get it is, "play with or against somebody who already has this trophy." What kinda ish is that?

It was achievements like these that made me lose all interest in them. At most anymore I will scroll through them on a game I like to see if there are things I want to do before moving on to the next game. I encourage all achievement hunters to consider therapy, as you may be fueling an addiction. The meaningless digital validations aren’t worth wasting your life over.

oh, that reminds me: Perfect Dark on the N64. if you beat "Perfect Agent" difficulty, you unlock an adjustable difficulty setting. NO ONE has EVER managed to beat the next-to-last level with THAT on Max!

I swear staying off the playstation and making sure I was in the game for the complete 24 hours on a random Tuesday (once on ps4 and one on ps5) was annoying as hell with Stanley's Parabol and no you can't just change the time on the system. I tried. Ugh.

The world of Warcraft portion feels very much like it’s written by someone who doesn’t play. Realm first isn’t just 80, as there’s a new one every expansion or seasonal restart of classic. Second, it’s not hard, just a race. And third most ppl don’t care. WORLD first is more impressive, not realm or server. Also calling them dungeon raids was a dead giveaway you don’t actually know much about the game

That's not how leveling works in world of warcraft, you have to grind out to MAX level before you can do the new raids for that current content. And it DOES have a world first achievement now lol

Ditto. Trophies are nice but I won't go out of my way for them. Trophy for completing all side quests? No problem, I do them anyway. Trophy for finding one of each item in the game, some with RNG-in-RNG-in-RNG systems??? No thanks. That's just not fun and I don't have time

Imagine getting dopamine from getting a “trophy” for playing a game. Is there someone sitting somewhere in a gamer chair wearing a crown 👑 high on all the dopamine of his illustrious “trophy” conquests. If I love a game enough to 100% it, then that’s enough for me. No need for cyber “trophies”.

@@Xoulrath_ No. There should be a difficulty regulator for achievements. We should have hard but not impossible achievements. I’m not saying so easy it’s a joke, I’m saying something the average gamer could do, not give up on it because it’s way too hard.

@@matrixguardian4539 nah man, sorry, I don't agree. If we're talking about achievements that force purchasing DLC to complete, then fine. But difficult achievements should be a thing. Otherwise they aren't really achievements. I've been gaming for 40+ years since first playing my first game on my dad's Intellivision II back in the early 80s. I've played literally over a THOUSAND games during that time. I've beaten the ones that I enjoyed playing. I've quit plenty because I didn't enjoy the game, regardless of the difficulty. I'll probably NEVER beat Ghosts n' Goblins or any of the sequels, because I simply don't care for how the game controls. Likewise, I'm not a fan of Dark Souls for similar reasons. I shouldn't get credit for beating those games simply because I played those games. Achievements shouldn't be so easy as to allow an "average" gamer to be able to 100% every game they play, because then, by definition, they are NOT achievements. At that point, it's nothing more than completing a to-do checklist for any given game. Honestly, I could care less about the achievement/trophy systems as far as points go. The only thing that I really like about them is that they are great for recording what I did in a game. But if they disappeared today, I wouldn't miss them. And again, wrapping up my thoughts, you point out that you wish for "hard but not impossible achievements." The issue here is what might be hard for you is easy for someone else. Let's say that you wish to 100% a game and get all but one achievement. The achievement in question is beating the game on its hardest difficulty setting. You're unable to do it. So does that mean that the game should have allowed you to 100% it by beating it or normal, or even easy? So what might be hard for you is easy for someone else, and what's hard for them is easy for you. There will never be some perfect system where everyone can get all the achievements unless we dumb down achievements to the point that they are, as I already pointed out, nothing more than a checklist of what you've done in the game.

I hope they put FF7s here a few times. The piano minigame, the minigame high score, the beat the the Hard Difficulty challenges even though I am on normal difficulty. I am pretty sure some of the devs there legit hate their players now.
