crashed my bike last Father's Day 2023 and still recovering. Used exceptionally poor judgment and knew beforehand I was f*ckin around and def found out LOL. Got 2 titanium rods in my right arm, 3 in my right leg, didn't even count the broken left hand as it was all overshadowed by my left knee injury. 6 surgeries in all and 2 months in the hospital. Rode the lightning with no painkillers until the 6th and final surgery where they reconstructed my knee with cadaver parts. Ouch. Can only imagine what you're dealing with. Now walking again and was wearing full gear when I came off the bike - including air bag vest which literally saved my ass from death or a wheelchair, etc. Back of the airbag was mangled but I wasn't even bruised or sore underneath. Re: the constipation meds - I hear ya but I can tell you first hand you don't wanna get clogged up, Hoss as that will be a memory you will never forget. They'll also send the hottest nurse in to do the enema so there's that . . . Probably the worst of all of it was constipation from the 3 days of painkillers I took after the 6th and final surgery. Sorry bout ur leg, man. I'm still planning to ride again once I'm medically cleared but wife and fam not happy about it. Hey - what can we do? Nothing like riding a street bike - absolutely nothing. Is it worth it? IDK but maybe . . . much success and God bless, Hoss. Hope you heal back sooner rather than later. They'll try to hook you on the meds so be careful . . . after a few days the lighting becomes ok and then I think you recover much faster and better sans the medically induced addiction. Anyway . . .

There will be ups and downs but you are looking good under the circumstances. Still a long way to go but I think you have battled through the worst of the situation. When my mother, an RN, was pregnant with one of us and became constipated my dad’s mom, also trained as a nurse offered to give her a soap enema to which my mother agreed. But the only soap grandma found was a box of Fab laundry detergent. When it went in my mom screamed because it burned so badly. When she found out her mother in law had used laundry detergent she was pissed off for sure. It did work though.

Eating,drinking, peeing, pooping, repositioning, able to make needs known. You are a good patient.

When I had crud one 9 back in 2020 and they just about wrote my off for dead, nothing was more gratifying than the 12 pounds of pudding poop that exploded out of me and covered the entire bed and 50 % of the room floor and parts of the wall. ... get better quick and I pray you manage to get back on 2 wheels

Its good to see your spirits high and your eyes bright. That was the hardest for me after my big accident, was fighting off the uncertainty. After 2 weeks layed up, the pain wasnt going away and mobility wasnt increasing but slowly it did. I do feel your emotion's help with healing.

personally as a physical therapist assistant, and a motorcyclist as yourself. keep taking the poop softener. i have see in the other way and its not any better. try moving around the bed an hour before you session with therapists. you look to be taking this well. good thing is, we have DCT or Honda Trail 125 if we need it. then we can step to the Can-Am 3 wheelers if needed. and if all else fails, we have the Slingshots! glad all looks on the up and up

Hey man my biggest fear when I had my gallbladder removed was poopn. And when I woke up I was washed and still damp so pretty sure It happend while I was under 😂😂😂 at some point we all depend on others. You seem to be doing great, man. 👍

I am glad it came out. Not too happy how it did for you, but like you said, this ain't voluntary. I ate at Golden Corral last week and almost did the same thing at work. no drugs needed. lol. I hope you get some energy back. Once you finally go poop, it's natural that you get a real huge drop in energy, because your body was working so hard, to get the bad stuff out. Just stopped by to say it’s just after midnight here in the uk 🇬🇧 And I hope you have managed to get some rest. People say while you are sleeping you are healing. I know this is a challenging time and I believe you will get through stronger every day even when f it doesn’t feel that way at the moment. Obviously you are putting on a brave face, but in reality you are brave, there are so many people who love you and want you to recover and make the most of being alive. I find your videos difficult to watch because I can see how much is going on in your life, I am grateful for the strength you have shown and no doubt there are many people that gain strength from your strength. I know it may seem like I am rambling on but hopefully you gain some comfort knowing that you still have immense value in this world. Stay strong and remember this is temporary and in the future when you have gained your ability to walk using the prosthetic leg and the pain has subsided you will have fun again because of your positive attitude and enjoyment of life. Your leg does not define you, it’s your strength of mind and the messages that you share with the world. Just try and rest as much as possible and don’t try and answer this message because all your focus is needed for healing. Once again best wishes for a new and successful future. ely

Your superficial facial wounds are healing nicely. Being frustrated with being in the hospital is progress, although it doesn't feel like it. It's better than being dead, almost dead, or nearly comatose from opiates. Being able to feel frustration is definitely progress. When I broke my back and nearly ripped my right foot off when I was 16, I was in a hospital bed for several weeks on IVs. I was put back on solid food before I was discharged. I remember the first poop. I told a friend that I felt as if I gave birth to twin softballs... cold sweats and excruciating pain, with few options while in a plaster body cast. That wasn't fun. It's all part of life teaching us not to do stupid things so we can avoid the consequences. I'd trade a lot of physical pain to avoid the indignities you described. Hang tough. This is just a moment in time and it will pass. It doesn't define who you are. Other hippie dippy platitudes as needed. Thanks for the progress reports. There are a lot of us who are thinking about you often and are emotionally invested in your recovery.

What do old guys talk about? 💩 Don, I'm glad you're up and MOVING.😊 That's actually a huge hurdle, when I had my first shoulder surgery they had me on a morphine bolus in my IV for four or five days. I couldn't see the clock (didnt have my glasses) on the wall to tell whether enough time had passed so that I could push the button and get another hit, and the bolus pump made the same beep whether it actually injected or not. But I could pull the pump over close to the bed, and watch the plunger in the big hypodermic. If it moved I was going bye-bye for a while, if not I had to wait try again later. Anyway, all that morphine definitely, most definitely, absolutely will constipate the living hell out of you. I know the relief that you felt!!!! Hang in there big guy that's one more step (hmmm bad choice of words) in the direction of healing. I was wondering the same thing somebody else asked, I've not seen any comments from Richard (AKA Scooter Mullet)? WTF? Oh well, your subscriber count looks good!!! Well after my crash and yummy opioids, I ate lots of yogurt, banana’s and apple sauce, lots of salad too. I didn’t poop for about 5 days or so after my crash at Summit Point. Due to the morphine and Percocet. So good idea to lay off heavy stuff like steaks and burgers, for a while.

Dilaudid is wonderful but very addictive. So they don’t want to use it for pain everytime.

I'm glad you are fully functional just without a leg. Imagine if you got brain damaged and became a vegetable or became paralyzed. But I'm sure you have thought about all that a bunch of times already. I hope you are able to get out of that hospital soon.
