My theory for why Anya's obsessed with peanuts is that it may have been the only coping mechanism she had when dealing with the experiments, perhaps being used as a form of positive reinforcement.

I imagine peanuts being her favorite food had something to do with the fact she was a poor orphan. . From a writers perspective. Maybe it's just free advertising to get people to buy peanuts. I know I've been trying and tbh Anya is the best peanut representative

isn't that what studying basically is? I mean most people had to check and read shit ton of reference and studying books before their incoming exams to memorize the answers. Yeah sure, Loid himself got the exam papers for the entrance exam but the exam itself isn't as simple as Multiple Choices where you only had to memorize the correct letter of choice for the numbers. She had to memorize the definitive word for the numbers and memorizing things that is hard for kids at her age.

@@xdivineHART I mean, its the same on the manga... Loid only said a few crossword answer before the author skipped the others. I mean who would even waste a few manga panels when the main purpose of the scene is to show a bit of a hint that Anya has powers before the narrator announce it.

Anya takes the thoughts she picks up on, and quickly makes plans based on them. Anya knowing about Loid and Yor’s concerns about choosing each other caused her to bemoan she “has no Mama” and for Loid to quickly improvise that he’s a widower, which clears the way for Yor to ask him to her party. Later, she foils a rigged drawing by picking up on the thoughts of the sleazy drawing operator, and draws the winning piece herself. She also gains a dog, Bond, who has precognitive powers and can see the future. She can read his mind and get an idea of what might happen-and she then has to possibly stop it (foiling a bomb attempt that would have otherwise killed Loid for example).

Anya has became my favorite anime character of all time. Even the anime adaptation was able to retain cuteness and japanese voice actress has done a great job.

Also there's a fact that Anya is often talking to people in authoritative tone (at least in the Japanese text), like how she demands peanuts. I feel like it comes from her defensive instinct, she's trying to cope with her lonely situation and scary past by letting herself think she's superior. Also that she barely calls anyone by name, the only exception among human characters is her best friend Becky, she calls others by their titles or their characteristics, which is another sign of being afraid as a child who had once been in a horrific situation. Actually I can relate myself to her about those, as one who was suddenly brought to Japan from Hungary as a kid, without understanding a word here and put into a Japanese elementary school where I was the only foreigner, and that time, most of the students and even some teachers didn't have an idea about the existence of non-English speaking foreign countries.

I have some disagreements about: 1Her telepathy powers are clear and she can understand Loid, she just can't keep up with her thoughts together with her studies. 2Anya has the ability to hear multiple voices, but she can't understand all of them at once. 3Loid already found it strange that she got a higher score in her mother tongue (archaic) and thinks she has a dialect from before the current change. 4It's most likely that Anya was born in a lab and exposed to some current knowledge, but maybe she knows her mother as she cried when they mentioned it.

Fun Fact about me: When I was 4-7, I didn't have my two front teeth so Air would always blow through when I talked and I stumbled on my words like Anya. Now I'm 14 and STILL talk similarly to that because I'm so used to it and because I talk at the speed of light lol

Anya is actually incredibly smart: she makes plans on the spot using limited information, and they are often pretty impressive, particularly for such a small child (let's not forget she's likely 4 or 5, and not 6 like she told Loid). That said, she's lagging behind kids get age because all her time moving between orphanages can't have given her access to any decent education. In short, she's naturally smart but she needs to learn a lot of facts to know the basics of the real world

No, Anya lied about her age because she hear Loid that he needs a 6 year old, so she told him she's 6 so that he could adopt her. shes younger than 6 because the SxF editor manager Shihei Lin knows Anya is 4.

As someone know a little japanese, わくわく(wakuwaku) dont have a kanji😂 it is an onomatopoeia and most of time it is written in katakana or sometimes hiragana . In manga, If Ania made wrong pronunciation sometimes it will be written in Kanji and will have hiragana on top of it on how she pronounced it. Ania lack of education will be notice, not on her pronunciation, but on her grammar and proper use of respectful and humble words. ex. daijoubu masu( instead of daijoubu desu) calling Loid as chichi( instead of otousan) and Yor as haha (instead of okaasan)
