I like this, just wondering when doing the goblet squat, how important is it to stay in the squat position for those few seconds? Depending on the day, my knees don't always like to be in that position for very long.

Hi Brian, great question! Thanks for watching! The reason for the pause at the bottom of the squat is because it forces us to use pure strength and "starting strength" to come out of the squat. When we don't pause in the bottom of a squat, we use momentum and we "bounce" out of the bottom. Both ways of doing it are good! They just serve different purposes. 🦍 Pausing and going slowly promote pure strength. 🐇 Not pausing in the bottom promotes speed, power, and "springiness". With regards to knee pain... That's more of a question for your physical therapist as there are a lot of different issues that could be causing knee pain. Have you seen a good physical therapist or chiropractor who can give you some rehab exercises to reduce knee and joint pain? Thanks!
