Each quarter how many projects do you aim to complete with your students?
@Managingthemess
@Managingthemess Жыл бұрын
@@juztnlast953 The younger students 4-5 projects. The older students 3-4 projects. We work for 8 weeks and often projects take multiple classes. Then we take one week off from new projects on our “ketchup/pickle” day.

I am just loving your videos! I’m working on getting my teaching certification now as a mid-life career change. I tried teaching 20 years ago but was pushed into doing a regular classroom when my passion was art, and it was pre all of this wonderful help out on the internet now from amazing creators like yourself. Thank you so much for spreading your knowledge and helping not only other teachers but all of those kiddos out there! 💕

I LOVE these time-saving tips! I'm currently in school to become an art teacher and I certainly need to work on time management, so I am very thankful for these! The first tip is so simple yet I would have never thought of that; I'm going to implement it in my life as a student too! The ketchup and pickle, and the structure tips were also mindblowing. I am happy I found your channel! Do you recommend any secondary school art teachers to give more wisdom in that area too? Thanks!

I'm so glad it was helpful! I’m not sure of any similar secondary art content creators but I will keep my eyes open. Did you watch the original video? This was part 2 here is the link to part 1 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bJmJjMd-z96oeGw.htmlsi=oZc4WLIdBvZXD2rm

These are excellent tips! I have a question about ketchup and pickle day (this could be a great theme for an upcoming video :) I've had free choice days in my art classroom as well. I'm curious about how you structure the pickle portion. Are students allowed to roam the classroom freely? Do they have to choose one station for the entire class or can they visit numerous stations? Also, what kind of stations do you provide for students? I've had fun painting stations during free time (which students loved) but it was a big mess!

It’s ketchup and pickle week for me now. Hoping between all the end of school madness I can record how this day/week works. I let the pickles move freely. It’s low mess paints- paint sticks, tempera cakes, dot painters etc. all at one table. The other tables are empty and students bring activities here. Origami, coloring, spin art with markers, bracelets, scratch art, magnatiles, legos, etc.

I loved your video as usual! I work in a trailer behind the school, and have no built in shelving for my big cardboard class portfolios. I like your table color construction paper folder idea per class, but three questions: How do you laminate the paper and still fold it? What do you do for large 12 by 18 projects to get them to fit in the folders? How do you keep this organization system in place when as an art teacher classes come back to back without time to fill the folders?

Several of your questions are answered in this video Managing the Artwork- Elementary Art Teachers Guide to Organizing Student Artwork in the Art Room kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fKqke5OLxLqUlGw.html As part of the clean up students put the artwork away in the folders. You will see in the video that the colored paper is laminated and then folded. The colored paper is for table folders. For larger artworks I have large cardboard folders as the class folder. When I was limited on storage I put the class folders in the largest size rubbermaid tote without a lid as if they were file folders. I hope that helps! 😊
