These movements remind me of my childhood; the carefree spirit we had in our movements when we played outside. Nobody told you what to do or what to believe. You were just carefree. Then we became adults and forgot what those feelings felt like. Yeah. Thanks strength side for reminding me that I can still move my body like this without being concerned about what others think.

Totally. I started crying doing this because it was like the memory of being 8 and pretending to be a monkey and an animal and just letting loose on the playground was stored in my body and came rushing in again. Being free and wild in the body is how I/we came into this world, so grateful to be coming back to that

Dude! Just gotta say....BADASS!! I'll be 51 in 2 days, pretty fit for any age but... decades of weight training, contact sports, ARMY stuff etc have left this body pretty beat up. I've been looking for a mobility/ flexibility/ rehab type modality to start doing on my rest days and in that search found your vids last week. After 3 sessions of putting many of the movements together I can already feel improvement. Thank you!!!!

Awesome bro I'm the same. At 57 my beat up shoulders from years of heavy lifting are loving this along with the rest of my body! My mobility and movement capacity is gradually improving like never before, so therapeutic to do this in nature like he does. Combining this calisthenics and natural parkour. Don't go to indoor gym anymore apart from calisthenics/ movement classes twice a week the rest of the time nature is my gym!

I switched from weight lifting to this..at 45 I've been getting injured alot. Since I switched I've been more mobile, feel free, more healing. Stretching and doing this type of work I feel great

Clifford Stanger awesome to hear bro. The more I research and experiment my self with movement and exercise the more I'm seeing that movement and body weight exercise like calisthenics and natural parkour is the way to go along with some strength and fitness added to the mix! This dude definitely seams to be on the right track!

Mr Ruhe that is true and modern fitness industry is to blame as it continually focuses on what sells and makes money. It's a lot easier and profitable to sell gym memberships and exercise that is simple and easy to do which makes people look good but not necessarily perform good! Natural movement should be mandatory and taught in school starting with primary school at this age kids have natural instincts which make them instinctively want to explore and try natural movement skills, you only have to watch kids playing in play ground and natural environments to see this,. Movement is then for life once learned and the enjoyment factor is ingrained! But we have to learn and actively maintain the practice all to often modern life and modern fitness , exercise and sport work against this.

I have a question in one of your short videos doing stretching you had something around the toes on your right foot is that to straighten the toes? I’m having a problem like that and I am looking for something to help. Thanks and keep up with the videos. I appreciate them.

I think Box Jumps are great! So are "broad jumps" and so are "vertical jumps" I like to use a combination. Just don't overdue it. treat them just the same as squats. 15-25 reps is all you need.

Strength Side thank u so much! I’ll make sure to start putting more explosive jumps into my workout 😊
@desigilmore5044
@desigilmore5044 5 жыл бұрын
@@isaachartikainen6178 there is a point where size will result in loss of power and mobility. As TKD432 has already said consistency is going to be the most important factor in achieving results. You have had good advice here I would add that if sqauting and jumping are your main workout for legs, dependent on where you are currently on your training journey will dictate how specific you need to be with programming your exercise to achieve your goals. If your a beginner or "untrained" (less than a year of consistent training) you will see gains in size, mobility and athleticism however you program these exercises. As time goes on you may need to be more specific about loads, reps and varying training stimulus. This, however, is a very strength and conditioning based approach to training for specific goals around size and explosiveness. I perceive that Josh at strength side (amongst others) provides an example of the antithesis to the very rigid parameters of training in traditional fitness and to a lesser extent strength and conditioning models. The approach of natural/ primal movement, "in my opinion"is not constrainded by specific "training goals" like size. It is about the process of moving in a variety of ways of varying complexity to provide nourishment for all the physiological systems of the body. Thereby achieving the necessary physical, neurologoical and psychological stimulus are bodies crave to maintain overall health and well being. The strength side channel is a great example of where an individual does this well while still being informed by knowledge of strength and conditioning principles. In short if you like this style of training you may benefit from forgetting about muscle "size" and measurable strength and focus on the process and the variety of movements. If you stick with it long enough you'll find your body will take shape in the most natural way it should.

Nice jump! It always seems to be WAY higher as your looking down on it :) Hope you're doing well Josh. Any thoughts on whether its ok to move through a "ratcheting" sound? My knees are a THOUSAND times better after doing your bullet proof knee routine for over a month now (No pain during the day anymore :)))!!!) but still getting some ratcheting in the left knee while moving in and out of certain movements (mostly deep crouch,deep squat). No sharp pain but occasionally a soreness for an hour two afterwards. Thanks! Oh! and not just my knees but my shoulders, really, my whole body is just taking off... Seriously, sincerely, THANK YOU...
