No!! I am too busy having a good time to worry about what others are doing. LOL. Kids will do what kids do. The ships are so big if someone is annoying me I just find another spot, another bar.... maybe in the theater when people are talking during shows but that is universal.

We hate talking to people on speaker phones.. We've told customers to call us back when they could call without using speakerphone.. It's so annoying.

I think all of this boils down to there are a lot of people in this world that do not have decency anymore. Everyone is self-centered, and could care less about how others around them feel. I’ve gotten to where I don’t like going into public places anymore just because I don’t want to deal with people. Shouldn’t be that way.

Sorry to add politics to this but a former POTUS has demonstrated how to act in public. Self-centered, narcissistic, sociopathic is the example our former POTUS DJT has propagated. Everything is 1st Amendment allowed. There are civilized norms which have disappeared. Putting thousands of people adults and children in a confined space you are asking for bad behaviour. People think anything goes. Manners have gone the way of Emily Post and are dead.

That's why we have gone from cruising to the RV mode of travel. We love cruising and enjoyed all of them. However, our mode of travel lately is in the RV.

Yes ! Why the cruise lines haven't smartened up on shutting the Theater doors at show time is beyond me. They probably can't lock the doors due to safety reasons.... ? yet main land movie theaters have done it forever. The kids in the elevator I have not experienced. However if I did, and if I wasn't in a hurry, and if there weren't other adult passengers in the elevator, I'd turn to the kids so they knew something was up, and then I'd punch every elevator button there was LOL !!!

However there are moments on cruises where one can't help but observe/hear others who are inconsiderate, which is what this topic is addressing - and it's fun to vent sometimes LOL. Actually some of the rudest people and the stories shared tend to be so ridiculous they're funny ! Happy cruising all !

I just went to the local theater to see Les Miserables last week for the traveling Broadway production. Their policy is that as soon as the show starts, no one is allowed to go to their seat until the first scene change which is 20 minutes into the production

1) Unsupervised kids playing in the elevators, elevators are already busy enough. 2) people who come late to show and instead of find a seat decided to stand in the middle and block everyone’s view. Also talking in the middle of the show!

A lady at our main dinning room table the first night, took it upon herself to scold us for wanting the cheese plate as an appetizer. She informed us and everyone at the table that cheese was only served after the meal, like a desert. The country she was from in Europe would neve allow cheese to be served this way. The maitre D stepped in and brought the discussion to a close and he was happy to assign us to a new table for the rest of the cruise. We still laugh about that, every time we think about it.

We were on a cruise where the family at the table next to ours in the main dining room were not making their kids behave. After a while the two youngsters were running around their table, literally throwing forks at each other. The parents just kept sucking down their drinks and tried to ignore them. We don't let things like that ruin our cruise, but wow, I could not believe that parents would let their kids get so far out of line. Throwing forks in the dining room??? Wow.

I just came back from my very first cruise. These people ruined certain moments: People next to me talking loudly during performances; people saving seats in the atrium, buffet, and sundeck; bands of teenage boys behaving obnoxiously.

Kids running up and down the halls at night, people wearing nothing but a towel in the spa area and then taking it off in the sauna and steam rooms, blocking the view when you come in late to a show, verbally arguing with your family so loudly I have to put down the book I am reading to come and listen in to your drama by opening the balcony door .

Amen to the NOT BRINGING A SPEAKER ON A CRUISE! We just had what would have been the most perfect cruise ever slightly dampened by our next door solo neighbor watching the entire MISSION IMPOSSIBLE SERIES on their computer attached to a SPEAKER with DEEP BASS SOUNDS starting at 7am!!!!! Also blasting country music from their balcony all afternoon!!!! It’s hard to “let the water off a ducks back” when you’re being woken up early every morning to fight scenes from a movie shaking your wall!!!! ITS NOT US ITS THEM!😂

Talking loudly on your balcony, especially early in the morning and late at night. The ship is made of steel and the sound gets magnified. Also, talking in the cabin and opening and closing drawers without slamming them shut.

Agree ! Loud voices on balconies really can bug me. Are people so clueless or self-absorbed they don't know there's only a flimsy patrician between balconies? When I see a balcony completely encased within the hull, I snag it and I don't care where it is LOL ! Cheers to your great answers.

Balcony smokers.. I had one on last cruise. Especially when they're upwind. I had to call security he was a couple of doors up. They did take care of it though.

Tony, this content is priceless. Please type it up and direct a certified letter to all the mainstream cruiseline presidents. The survey and its order are near perfect, the only change I would suggest is to shift #11 (hand washing) to #1 and slide all others back. The entire cruising population should be thankful to you. Now, let's get the cruise lines to listen and do something about these complaints.

I agree with all of your points. Kids who are unsupervised can be real little monsters so I always blame the parents. And the last point, we are responsible for our reaction to all external factors, is the most true of all. Even if something happens to make us mad or upset we can choose to get over it instead letting it control us.

Is that really what happened LINDA?? We sat next to a couple in BLU on a Celebrity Cruise where the wife talked so loud to her husband about what he was to eat and how he was to eat it. OR the people that feed birds on their balcony while in port. OR the sneezing people in the buffet while at the food. Tony, this is my list!! AWESOME dude!!

On a recent trans Pacific cruise on the Majestic Princess, a couple had large blowup pool floating chairs that they launched into the adult pool and were floating around. It made the small pool essentially unusable by anyone else as these large chairs were bumping into people. Fits under the general category of not caring about others and only about your cruise which fits many things, including chair hogs. Fortunately, Princess told them to put them away. How do people have so much luggage space?

Everybody should have just pushed those floating pool hogs away and turned it into a fun game of bumper floaties. They would have got sick and tired of being pushed around the pool by everybody lol.

I have apparently ruined someones cruise that occurs in SIX MONTHS by posting a comment about luggage tags on a FB group. Yup his cruise is already ruined. Can only imagine what this person will do when the things you describe occur on the ACTUAL Ship.

I think people should be considerate of others. Anyone who doesn’t ruins the experience. If someone is vlogging by themselves and not bothering anyone who cares, kids regularly having fun who cares. Loud vloggers, speakerphone people, chair hogs, ignorant parents, etc (anyone who is “the main character” basically), those are the people who ruin any experience.

My last cruise was “ruined” by people who are in the upper echelon of the benefits program (RCL Pinnacle) who were obnoxiously rude to the crew and demanding outlandish requests because they wear a gold (plated) name badge. Some examples: Man switched the table number plates on the table next to us because he wanted “our” table. He made it “his” table. couple demanded two (2) shrimp cocktails be at the table before they arrived, every night, even if not on the menu Same couple demanded that there be two cheese and fruit plates with covers on the table for them to take back to the rrom Man demanded that his full dinner be served in less than one hour because he had to go to the theater to save seats for the rest of the table Woman demanded a different table than the one assigned because she wanted to see the sunset Same woman the next night complaining that the NEW table had too much light coming from the sunset (I swear) Woman demanded that she have French Onion soup even though it was not on the menu. When the waiter advised her of the same her response was “they have it on the menu in Chops every night, go up there and get one” Woman ordered ice cream for dessert then told the waiter that she wanted a banana and chocolate sauce with it since she felt like having a banana split Sorry, but i had to get this off my chest. I can see that they want to get their due, but in all of the cases above, the people were very rude and demanding. It’s different if a crew member went out of his way to do something out off the ordinary once or twice during the cruise. These people were expecting things to be done for them every night.

My friend and I went to a concert ( not on a ship unfortunately). The group of girls in front of us were singing along at the top of their lungs. After awhile I impatiently said “ I paid to hear the band sing, not you” My friend turned to me and shouted “ speak for yourself! I came to hear them!” Lmao!

Ehh for me it’s different with concerts, most people want to go to concerts to experience them live along with the hype of the crowd unless it’s classical music or something 😂 It’s like going to a live sports game, the mass cheering is part of the fun or else you can just watch it at home.

My husband will never use the spray or antibacterial. He had severe reactions to it in the past. We have someone making a big drama once because he didn’t want to use it, I wish this person was able to feel his pain when his skin peel of his hands! So you never know their reasons. He will always use the sink and wash his hands though.

Kids on cruises are fine as long as they are respectful. Ive been on cruises where I would much rather sit next to a table of children with manners than some of the adults on board. Its the kids who act like little brats parents who enable them to go crazy who are the real issues.

You had us going for a moment Tony. We were like “what’s going on? Why is he so negative and not his usual positive self?” All I can say is “whew!” And Amen to your final words. You can’t change other people and a lot of negative circumstances but you can change how you react and think about them. Complaining only makes it worse.

If you don't like kids on a cruise, go with Virgin. However, parents do need to still be actual parents on a cruise. Also, please remember to teach your kiddos to be respectful to others, cruise or not. I've told my kids that whether or not you have a good time is up to you.

Oh no. I just got off of the NCL Escape and had my kids with me. I must have ruined someone's cruise. Luckily my kids love the kids areas so I promise my kids didn't bother anyone. The chair hogs can ruin cruises quickly, and more specifically, people traveling without kids blocking all the chairs near the splash pad when I know there are plenty of seats in the adults areas. We still had a good cruise. Can't ruine a cruise if you have a good attitude.

Ultimately, I agree with your last point. Annoyances exist everywhere. Whether annoyances ruin your day is up to you. I agree with a lot of the points you make - line cutters suck, people talking in the theater suck, et cetera. About vloggers, since that issue has been in the cruise news recently: I love travel vlogs and subscribe to several of them. Love seeing what you folks have to say or watch you enjoy your trip. So I’ll be watching someone doing cool stuff on a cruise or on a train or at Disney World thinking that’s so cool while simultaneously knowing that I’d be very annoyed if I were standing beside, say, the guy who’s loudly singing over the canned music so he can post his vlog without being demonetized, or whatever. Vloggers, please remember that the people beside you care more about their vacation than your KZfaq channel. Be considerate. Finally, kids. Kids ruin nothing. Inconsiderate and inattentive parents are the problem. It’s never the kids’ fault, and I speak as someone who has no kids. Thanks for a great post, Tony. ❤

Loved the way you presented today's vlog. Lots of humour, and yet some great suggestions. Mostly, I try not to let other people ruin my cruise, no matter what they do. I just enjoy the life on board, the places we visit, the food, the entertainment, and being on the water and feeling the fresh sea air. I guess that's just me!!! The one thing that I don't like is people who save loungers all day long. I was looking for a shady spot to sit and read and every lounger had a towel clipped to it and no one was in the pool or around. I was tempted to just move one of the towels, but didn't.

Whyever not? It sounds ridiculous to "save" a lounge that you may never even use. I can see saving a spot if you plan to go get something that would have been awkward to tote around while looking for an empty place, but how long do you need to go get a drink or find your companion who may be with you?

Love it! ❤. But, if you are unhappy on a cruise, there is a good chance you are unhappy at home, too! I almost ruined a cruise by forgetting my blood pressure med at home. But, the medical staff on the ship saved my cruise! And my husband almost ruined a cruise by agreeing to dance with a woman from our table after refusing to dance with me. Ooh…and she was really pretty, too!

I absolutely agree with number 7!!! Drinking is one thing. I’m down with that. But the whole falling down, being an a$$ drunk?! Nope. I’m out. Those folks get on everyone’s nerves. It gets old. You are 100% right. I was so ready for a vacation for my Wife and I that I didn't let loud people, kids, doors slamming shut (which I had never experienced since it was my 1st ever cruise) or anything ruin our vacation. It was a wonderful week in the Caribbean!!!!

I love your conclusion! It is all about your attitude. My daughter and SIL and 3 small grandsons love to cruise (my 2 year old grandson has been on 2 cruises!) Watching kids is a joy to me. I hope nobody every hates on them for cruising.

I wash my hands regularly and often enter the buffet having just washed my hands and you know what? I STILL honor the washy washy crew by using hand sanitizer (which I despise). The dreaded noro can have a huge negative impact on the crew so I choose to be respectful

So according to some cruisers, if you have a disability, you’re a child, or loud adult due to a possible hearing loss, someone who uses a scooter, a person who has a bit too much to drink, you accidentally let your door slam, etc. you shouldn’t be on a cruise. That’s disappointing! Everyone is on vacation, try to enjoy it, and do what you do. I won’t let it ruin my vacation . I’ve seen and heard it all on my cruises. We still cruise with our grown kids, our grandkids, and great grandkids. 😊

I’ve experienced all. I’ve come to the policy: keep expectations low and get up and leave those situations and find something else to do. Also something else to do. **only exception is when it effects stateroom.

I've had my kids with me behaving well and had people who hated kids staring daggers at my children when they weren't doing anything. They literally were just standing next to me breathing. I can see people not wanting rowdy kids or misbehaving kids on cruises but there are some people cruises who just hate all the children.

It’s basic common sense… people need to realize what they’re doing and have some attention to detail, I understand we are all on vacation and living a worry free life in the moment but honestly we are all in this together!!! And we simply need to get along and hug a friend because at the end of the day this world right now more than ever needs love sweet love!!!

Don't leave your kids in the room by themselves and then they're jumping off the bunk beds and slamming the doors while you're trying to relax from a long trip to get to your cruise. I hate thatx
