I have to use elevators, so I 'judge' those people who ensure I and my carer can fit. I judge them as wonderful people and I'm grateful to them. Thank you all for helping me cruise more easily. (Edit to add: Tony is a fantastic entertainer.)

Elevator use is one thing I don't care if some busybody wants to judge me on. First of all, I *am* fat and lazy. Secondly, I have really bad osteoarthritis in my right knee, and taking the stairs isn't always possible for me.

@@lisawright5674and the bad right knee to me is why you are not lazy! People just think they can assess the “laziness” or “disability” of someone just by looking at them. They look at me and oh I must have 3 main courses in the dining room and I need to take the stairs because I need to burn calories. They don’t see I don’t finish my meal in the MDR because I don’t actually eat much and haven’t been able to take the stairs since I fell in December 2022 and injured both MCLs.

I disagree in the case of a serious issue such as the toilets not flushing. Only remedy customer service offers is taking the gratuities off. I agree it punishes the wrong ppl but what else can you do?

Us too. Mostly oceanview but some interior and some balcony which we scarcely use. My Dad was Navy so he liked interior and the cost! And, he actually had enough money, but that’s normal with people who have aren’t trying to impress anyone!

Thr times we've had a balcony room, they overlooked Central Park or the Boardwalk. For our Alaska cruise next year, we have an outside balcony. We can see a ton of scenery from our cabin.

Remove my tips every time. I still cruise lol. The company can always pay their staff more. Raise prices if you must. I just tip the staff individually if they did a great job 😊

Every week I delivered heavy cases of water and room service amenities on every deck on embarkation morning. When you remove gratuities, I received no extra pay for the hardest shift of my week. Because you didn't "see" me do it, and hand me a dollar.

@877shannon sounds like your employer should compensate you for that. I carry my own luggage and travel light. Im sorry for that but the consumer is not responsible paying you "extra" at my job if i work a hard shift i dont get paid extra lol. Im sorry for that i know the crew works hard that is just my philosophy.

@juliomiranda2131 That's the only reason anyone works on a cruise ship that isn't Virgin or Disney. You get an extremely low hourly wage, but the tips and bonuses make up for the difference. It is the same way at any restaurant or bar in America. And if you want Disney prices, keep taking the gratuities off of your bill. Eventually, the cruise lines will have to raise the base fares to maintain the staffing levels, or cruise staff will work land-based jobs that pay more.
