Me husband is from swedish descent and I got me mum in law some Fika cards with pastries,cakes, and cookies draw in them and I just wanted to learn more about it and that's how the universe made me find you... thank you! I am italian I am living here in swedish for 2 months .I really miss the italian croissant here I can't find 😢 in italy you can find a lot of a sweet in packacking in all the supermarket was so delicious . And i really miss also water😢😢😢😢

I just arrived on Saturday (it’s Monday now). Since I arrived on a Saturday, I went to the nearby ICA & got a little bag of ‘godislördags’ candy - purely for the sociological purpose of cultural immersion, of course 😉. Then, for frukost this morning I had my very first semla (!) & washed it down w/ a hot up of skånerost kaffe: D-licious! 😋 So, fika for breakfast might not be culturally accurate, but I’ll use ignorance as my excuse 😉

I wonder where the chocolate ball came from. We do it as well here in Israel. It's very popular amongst kids here. And we would put coconut and sometimes sprinkles as well.

We made these in the U.S. in Girl Scouts, but they were shaped like regular cookies. We called them No-Bake Cookies. Some people add peanut butter.

Mazarin sounds similar to Bakewell tart in the UK. Do places make things like this gluten free?

I didnt know about the Bakewell tart. I guess I should try one then! Lots of bakeries in Sweden now have gluten free alternatives. Even though you will probably get less variation 😅

10:00 am is a good fika time. 15:00 is also a classic fika time. 16 or 17 is also an acceptable fika time 😊

Nu pratar du väl ändå goja!? Nog vet du väl vad en kokosboll är! Varför räknade du upp vatten som ingrediens i chokladbollar?? Du bör göra skillnad på chokladbollar och gammaldags chokladbollar (som man inte längre får säga rätta namnet på) då smaken är helt olika. Den äldre varianten var godisets godis!
