1. Constantly checking and examining my feelings. 2. Increasing speed and pressure during stress. 3. Getting lost anywhere else in my mind that is not here. 4. Being critical on myself, especially when I'm down. 5. Obsessing over "what am I doing wrong" or "what should I be doing that I am not doing?" 6. Compulsively focusing on "fixing myself " VS learning to be loved and to live in love. 7. Catastrophizing 8. Comparing myself 9. Carrying people's burdens for them. 10. Controlling what people think of me.

I used to dwell in the love of God and walk in the Spirit and it was the period of time that I lived more holy naturally, without even trying. Then negative teachings came which made me doubt the possibility of losing my salvation in the future. It made me feel unloved by the Lord and I found it hard to believe I was a new creation in Christ. This eventually lead me to worry and fear about many things. I used to pray and read the Bible for many hours a day. But after those wrong beliefs came in, My prayer time decreased and I developed OCD symptoms and found it more difficult to walk in the sPirit. I developed a low self image and I fell into a specific sin and temptation I never was tempted by in my whole Christian life since I got saved nearly a decade ago. Eventhough I wouldn't commit this sin frequently, it ate away at my mental and Spiritual health and I even quit my job which became pressurizing on me. I struggled so much and no one to help me. But then the Lord led me to your channel and I feel understood that someone is talking about this and not making me feel evil but loved by God

Everything spoke to me, but here are the phrases that popped out the most: 💡 “I am right where I need to be to learn what I need to learn.” 💡 “To value MY journey.” 💡 “You’re trying to encounter the Father from a distance to change yourself. No, what you need is connection with God; out of that, you are changed. And connection is brought about by LOVE.” (I “knew” this truth, but something about the way it was phrased this time turned on a light.)

These are great insights! One thing I am learning to do along the line of checking my emotions and growing what I focus on, is that upon waking up I push out any negative thoughts and emotions by drawing near to God in praise and worship and speaking out scripture. It sometimes takes a half hour or more but it always works eventually. I find it’s true that I give power to whatever I turn my focus to, so the more quickly I can turn from focussing on negatives the better all around.

All of these were helpful. However, being critical of myself and controlling how people see me or think of me are the most difficult challenges. Also, being present because I am overcoming maladaptive daydreaming; something I have been doing since childhood. If you get this message, will you kindly say a prayer for my mental health and well-being please? Thank you Mark and God bless you!

I find myself asking for help by stating," I can handle A, B, & C, But I need help with D & E, do you think you can help me with that?"... I'm finding it's a better result to get a little bit less done in a decent manner, than trying to get it all done, by myself. It doesn't impress anyone. Also, I'm allowing myself time to "PROCESS" my ancient "feelings", and then turning them over to God. It does take time. 1 min.2min...somtines 3min.😂

I always find myself taking notes when I watch your videos. As someone who struggles with sometimes intense anxiety and ocd, a few things that stuck out to me from this video were, "I'm keeping my eyes up and I'm moving forward," "Stay slow and don't take on pressure. Breathe," "Practice being in the present moment; focus on what's in front of you," and "See things as they are, not worse than they are." Thank you, Mark.

I have to say I am 28 years old and suffer from mostly all 10 of your points. Growing up I went through a lot of racism and harsh bullying for being half latino growing up in Greece, and did not receive validation for my emotions from my father, and often times my mother. Additionally, I was also molested and remember many times when during the night I would ruminate looking at the ceiling, trying to come up with socially defensive techniques to survive next day's bullying. Having said that, I have been going through life with a perfectionist mindset and have under valued most of my achievements. Fast forward to today, I work out almost daily, eat as healthy as possible, and even meditate. Nonetheless, I keep asking "Life" (or God) if you may, with whom I am really upset with, why is this happening to me, and why is this not coming my way? Did I not have to struggle enough in comparison to most of my peers who really have it much easier. And spiralling down thoughts like "I guess that is what I deserve, life does not want me". I came across your videos a few days ago and your words resonate "too much" with me. Just ordered your book on self pity to investigate further your ideas since they clicked. Your work is much appreciated from a brother from another mother! :)

My scrupulosity is so bad at times that I started to worry that hanging Christmas lights was too worldly and indulgent. It was causing that deep discomfort. And I started mulling back over my past and why I deserve a dark Christmas...Wait wait wait... God Himself is working with me on dealing with this. It can reach ridiculous levels easily! My recent prayer to God is "You are worthy of my trust."
