I didnt actually count if there are 10 things, but the title sounds good! I thought this pitstop at Gourikwa Reserve would be a good time to look over some of the equipment that stood out to me on my last 14 days of overlanding across South Africa, it's vehicle accessories that were great in the Hilux as well as some camping accessories that just made life around the campsite much easier! I will link below to all of the gadgets if you'd like to check them out, and relevant coupon codes if you would like to purchase any of them.

Your channel has become one of my fav channels to watch. Keep it Going brother. Could we perhaps get a more in-depth look at the Jackery and how it functions? I have been looking at some kind of power solution for camping. Safe Travels.

Hey Adrian, awesome video as usual. A little feedback: the place you sat at, opposite the window, causes a reflection on your glasses that’s quite jarring when listening. Content was awesome though!

YES, Garmin stuff is great. Did you know GARMIN was contracted by the US military decades & decades ago to develop the original military GPS system? It's true. Also, when NASA sent the Apollo spacecrafts to the moon, GARMIN was the company who developed the navigation system. I was watching a news story about the US Marines in Afghanistan & they were showing a USMC unit on patrol when the top Sargent whipped out a handheld nav unit to get his bearings and at the bottom of the screen it said GARMIN. That's plenty of endorsements for me. I always buy GARMIN nav units. I have had 7 or 8 different ones over the years. !

The system is called the nGauge4x4 system by CAWE their sensors connect to their app and can also be linked up with temperature sensors for the fridge, or voltage monitors for batteries too

I like the look of the jackery but that major thing that is missing is a usb-c port. If it had this I could run my laptop without the inverter and loose less energy in the conversion to ac and back to dc and thus more energy can be used to power the laptop.
@RoamOverlanding
@RoamOverlanding 3 жыл бұрын
You're on the money with that one Gordon! I will definitely be mentioning that in my review; hopefully they come with a version 2 sometime soon! I must check and see if the 1000W version has the Usb-C on it. An alternative though, is to buy a 60W USB-C cigarette lighter, and pop that in there, should work like a charm!
@gjheydon
@gjheydon 3 жыл бұрын
Basically anything to keep it dc to dc charging only. I read that inverters waste 50% of the power in just converting to ac and usb-c can provide up to 48v
@RoamOverlanding
@RoamOverlanding 3 жыл бұрын
So the Jackery actually shows the wattage when you switch on the inverter; and its about a 10-15W additional; so my macbook charges at 60-85W so its not as extreme as 50% waste. But it is significant if you're relying on the power offgrid because it could equate to a couple extra hours of solar at the end of the day that you dont need perfect sun for.

2500!!!!!! daylight robbery? why is it better than a Woolies blanket. Is the Jackery better than the flexopower or NL?

Are these sponsored reviews or did your hard earned Rand buy them?
@RoamOverlanding
@RoamOverlanding 3 жыл бұрын
Some are sponsored products some are bought; no one asked or paid for these reviews, this is just stuff I wanted to share with people. The difference with that blanket is that is backs down incredibly small into itself; worth every cent to me personally. The Jackery 500 is indeed better than my previous flexopower 444 hands down, in many aspects. But I will always have a NL setup in my vehicle, it is just too reliable and powerful not to have. But if I had limited resources, the Jackery 1000 in incredibly tempting because 100ah on lithium and 1000w pure sine wave inverter is pretty nuts… just haven’t seen how fast it charges via 12v on the bigger one.
