Great balanced review of Toronto. I came for my first job in high tech and now happily retired. One other thing to mention is diversity. Toronto is a multicultural collage with people from every corner of the globe. You can maintain your cultural roots in Toronto vs the US approach of homogenization. As a result there are great dining and shopping adventures as you sample the world's cuisine. If you are wealthy, there are some great neighborhoods. I have lived in the bluffs but now love the west end at the Humber River. Great parks and natural trails in the city.

In addition to the long commute, I think winter travel conditions should be noted. Especially for those not used to snow. Parking during winter months must be considered if one owns a car as many streets do not permit overnight parking. 👍❄️🚗

@@MakeThatChange George Brown College! I’ll be staying at the college residence which is located in downtown Toronto but will have to commute all the way to Casa Loma which is where my courses take place. From what I gathered, that’d take around 45-50mins by public transport while by car it’d take, depending on the traffic, less than half of that… I’ll definitely be working part time as well so I was thinking that a car would provide me a lot more flexibility.

Downtown is best if you like the hustle and bustle. You could move a little away from core downtown - Corktown, Leslieville areas East or liberty village west ( although it’s gotten pretty expensive lately). Both are still fairly walkable to downtown.

If you are planning to move to Toronto : a) get prepared to listen to Torono (t has been eaten by a mouse) like mostly Anna does on this video b) get prepared to deal with people with mental issues and illness in public. Especially if you use public transport, grocery stores, parks, etc c) get prepared to deal with aggressive or rude people and you being unprovoked called racist or sexist by visible minorities or other privileged social groups In my opinion those three facts are the first letters of the Toronto's culture alphabet..

@@valeria-militiamessalina5672 Ahaha, there is a whole bunch of key words and phrases you should be aware of before you moved to Toronto. Such as bedbugs and pest control, harassment at workplace , fake disability car signs, fake welfares, regular shoplifting and optional fare payment on ttc, minimum wage income, etc. The list is really huge. I try to avoid Toronto at all costs. Horrible place! Too crowded, too expensive, too much traffic congestion, too much political correctness, too much gun crime. Not very scenic compared to other large Canadian cities like Montreal and Vancouver. Canada's a fantastic country, but Toronto--despite its huge population--isn't the reason for Canada's greatness. It doesn't even feel like the rest of Canada. It feels like a mixture of a big American city and a Third World city.
