Meant to say "complimented" at 5:01. I recently got a new camera (BMPCC 4k!). Didn't really now how to use it yet but I had a few minutes to test it out while I was getting my haircut at my bro Ace's barber shop (@AceOfFadesLA). Here are a few guidelines I followed to get an adequate little video out of the spur of the moment opportunity.

These are all great tips. The pacing is way to fast for my taste. I think more variation over time would help. For instance a few quick cuts then give the viewer a brake to let the space sink in, hit them with a few more cuts etc. one thing to keep in mind is the age of the intended viewer. Younger people have grown up with chaotic bombardment of images through video games but that is mot the experience of everyone. Just my thoughts, thanks for posting.

I loved the tutorial. As I dive into cinematography more and covering different situations, tips like these are useful. My favorite was the low pass, and I dig that you use the correct terminology when describing techniques. Thank you.

I love how these tips are so universal. I came to almost the same tips/conclusions on my own by experience. I do a lot of run & gun shoots too with my BMPCC4k and i try to use my gimbal as less as possible. Most of the time i don't even bring it with me. I do recommend some slider shots from time to time to add a bit more diversity. The sound design tip is something im going to add to my workflow.

wow - excellent content. I will have to rewatch. I only want to make sort 1 - 3 minute videos for personal use / memories but this is so useful. I'll be using my samsung galaxy / fuji XT30 and Quik on the phone for simple edits or imovie / davinci resolve on the mac. Sunscribed and keen to look at your past content. Thanks

If you want a handheld look, don't shoot handheld. Use at least a cheap rig, believe me - handheld shot footage is a lot more shaky than you think it is.
