The unedited footage (which WWE certainly edited to make Brock look evil) showed Holly blatantly going dead-weight and trying to break Brock's grip in MID-AIR and the relatively green Brock just did the move as intended. Holly tried to sandbag young Brock on a powerbomb and got the residuals....

@@jaredbingham9018 I think that Bob Holly tell about the incident in his book...
@aaronhoy3410
@aaronhoy3410 2 жыл бұрын
1) "which WWE certainly edited to make Brock look evil" - Jeez, man come on. Get a grip. 2) While idk if the story Holly gives about this event [which for the record has for years now been that this was merely an accident & that they just had off timing leading to the mistake,] is exactly true [though I think it is probably true.] What I do know is that he wasn't trying to screw Lesnar by doing any of the sh-t alleged [like going stiff, trying to break Lesnar's grip, etc..] So, here are some ending links to youtube just put them in after "youtube.com/" to see, comments sections do not like a lot of links in them so I won't be putting full links here. watch?v=aWkT--N6TsU - This is a link to the high def version of the Lesnar/Holly incident. The power bomb sequence begins at the 6 min 43 sec mark. watch?v=gnBK1qvofK8 - There is the old sh-t version so people can see they didn't "edit" the video, though I saw it live on tv at the time so I can tell you they didn't. Now, I'm pretty sure based on what Holly has said before about "...I tried reaching for his head, but just couldn't reach it..." that the move wasn't actually supposed to be an actual power bomb, but was supposed to be what we see take place in that first link beginning at the 7 min 14 sec mark when they resumed the match after the injury. Where Holly ostensibly counters the power bomb & punches his way free. Otherwise there is no reason for him to be trying to grab Lesnar's head as you can see at the following links of other power bombs where the person being power bombed look pretty much exactly like the botched one that injured Holly. watch?v=QTivDiWVBE4 - Big Show power bombing Kevin Nash. watch?v=2LA0FEmMmNA - Hogan power bombing Eric Bischoff. watch?v=kyyx9P-YzqQ - Sid Vicious power bombing compilation. [who I actually met a few times back when I was kid & got to talk with & what not backstage at a family friends' regional wrestling promotion.] As to why Holly does what the op described as "trying to break Brock's grip in MID-AIR" is because that is how wrestlers stabilize themselves to hold their upper body straight during the move. Attempting to rely upon abdominal strength to hold themselves up straight would be dangerous after already doing [x] minutes of the match. The reason I said I think the accident story is probably true has to do with like I already explained I think they were meant to do what they did end up doing at the 7 min 14 sec mark which is why they restarted the match from there. Brock being new-ish in pro wrestling after Holly wasn't able to reach his head ended up attempting to kind of lower him back down. What he didn't realize though is that Holly wouldn't be capable of holding his upper body out horizontally & began straightening out vertically with his head toward the ground. Upon seeing this as he had Holly lowered about halfway back down dropped him so he could hopefully fall on his shoulders still as otherwise the gentleness he would've had to set Holly down on his head would've broken Kayfabe. Unfortunately Holly had already straightened out too much & ended up landing on his neck enough or in the right way that it ended up breaking his neck.

One more, Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels, Badd Blood. Physical retaliation you claim is not Taker's style but try telling Mr. Hickenbottom that. Immediately after the Montreal Screwjob Michaels was panicked, having claimed to have nothing to do with it, which was seemingly accepted but the Deadman was legitimately furious as was everyone else. Yet Michaels saw him as the only means of support who might, *might* step in if he was about to be murdered. So the story goes at Wrestlemania the then champion saw him taping up in case Michaels didn't do the job, a story Mark Calaway basically confirmed. However we look to Michaels' own admission in Heartbreak & Triumph where as guest referee at Summerslam, he accidentally clocked the Deadman with a chair. Accidentally as in that was the scripted end of the match where he would reluctantly give Bret the win and he and Taker would enter their own program. However Michaels realized the blow was forceful and to end their Hell in a Cell match he accepted a chair shot of his own as his personal receipt that rung his bell and would have put him down for the thousand count were it not for the debut of Kane.

Taker was one of the few people who could legit get receipts on people by merely threatening them. When he made a statement, people listened. Not only with Randy Orton, but also with Shawn Micheals. Let's be real, late 90's HBK was a jerk, to put it lightly. Taker was at the curtain, and threatened late 90's HBK to do what he was supposed to do. HBK, in his drugged up stupor and his bad attitude, sobered up real quick upon hearing that.

What New Jack did to Mass Transit and William Jason Lane was absolutely reprehensible. There's the time legitimately beat the piss out of 69 year old Gypsy Joe too However, the incident in XPW where Vic Grimes was seriously injured following a fall from scaffolding was a legitimate botch. I know Jack claimed otherwise but that was just to generate heat. If you watch the incident closely you can see Jack hardly pushed Grimes at all. When Grimes pushed off with his foot he gave himself too much forward momentum and fell further out than the straight downward plunge that was supposed to happen.

@BiggieTrismegistus 2 жыл бұрын
@@alfie8472 Huh. Not sure what happened to my reply but Wrestlecrap of all places points out the problems with Jack's claim he tried to kill Grimes. When Grimes was supposedly hit with the stun gun he flopped around like a fish out of water. If reality when someone gets tasered their muscles seize up. Then when you look at when Grimes goes over the railing he sure as hell doesn't look like someone trying to avoid being hurled to his death. He and Jack are cooperating the entire time. If you go to the Wrestlecrap site the article should be pretty easy to find because it was posted relatively recently. As I said, New Jack undoubtedly did some terrible things in the ring but it's kind of ironic that he didn't actually do the terrible thing that's most well known.

It's cool that a couple of cases, the wrestlers became good friends. As Hogan used to refer to them, they really are brothers of a sort. A receipt of another sort was from Austin getting his terrible ring master name from Vince, then changing it to Stone Cold. Vince was calling his first match, and would refer to him as Stone Cold throughout the match, as if trying it out. Wrestling history was changed forever, and Austin became one of the biggest stars ever.
