Flying around with the drone, I spotted this sheep that needed treatment for flystrike. I brought her to the yards and helped treat her for her condition.

Those drone shots are pretty cool especially like the outro view. I'm hooked by the satisfaction I get watching you bring so much relief to afflicted sheep. Big plus, I don't have to get my hands dirty!

You should have definitely put some ointment on to help the pain and heal. The raw sore area must’ve been excruciating for her the poor girl.

Are you a sheep farmer. What is your knowledge that you made that comment. I think the sheep got immediate relief from being shaved

@@johnpietros9439 yes there was some relief but the burning in the stinging of the skin that is extremely raw and aggravated is also very painful considering the sheep is still walking around. It will pull back-and-forth on the skin aggravating it further there is a special ointment for this particular issue that I have used on my sheep as well so as for your answer, yes I have sheep used for wool only and are free ranged as well so I understand the importance of keeping the coat, healthy, and the sheep happy and pain free. It’s proper. Animal husbandry.

Is there a reason why you didn’t apply hydrogen peroxide or something else to wash the infected area? Or apply antibacterial spray and an antibiotic shot to treat bacteria and help with the pain, inflammation, swelling and to kill off the maggots since you had her in your grip?

Do they make battery shears now? I can't believe how calm they are when being shorn. I am trained in shearing but you make it look so easy.

Thanks. Yeah the Handypiece shears are amazing, battery sits around my waist and everything becomes more efficient. Can just shear them where they are without putting them inside the woolshed.

I don't know anything about sheep and had no Idea flies could live in the sheep's wool. I guess they eat off of the sheep's skin.

You are correct. They lay eggs on soiled wool and the larvae then bury into and feed off the flesh. Quite gruesome.

I wonder how those stupid flies zero in on one sheep over another? What is so special about that one? Was it because she had an extra dirty backside, and the flies sniff that out?

It must be pretty miserable having the fleece festooned with these awful things crawling around effectively eating your arse end off you. I hold a quiet admiration for sheep and how tough they are , that said without help like this life would be even harder for them, I wonder if this farmer can do a fade cut as my hair could do with a bit of a trim 🤔
