This is so impressive! Thanks for showing this. And I am really, really glad prevention treatment exist. And who would have thought Drones can be so useful. Still amazed how you do it, to look at 30 kind of identical animals and being able to observe them. It's not that they stand still and are like, yes please Sir, do your job.

Have watched several other vids from sheep ranchers & fly strike. Finally an owner who actively looks for early stages of these disgusting maggot infestations. It would be hell to be a sheep!😥. Horrible!

New Zealand has a lot of fantastic farmland. The climate in our region and the volcanic soil make for good grass growing conditions.

Im curious why the sheep dont need an antiseptic or antibiotic for the ones with really bad open wounds where the maggots ate away the skin?

Do you ever lose animals to fly strike? I remember losing several sheep to this problem.

I showed a friend one of your videos and he asked a valid question: is the wool salvageable from sheep treated with flystrike? I would assume it isn't, but I'm still curious if I'm right or wrong.

He has said it’s not but back in the day his dad would try and salvage it but wools just not worth much these days to do that.

It's very bad for the sheep's health, and ruins the affected wool. For this reason we are changing over to a new breed of sheep that is not so prone to this issue. Thanks for watching.

I know farmers are always busy and I’ve always appreciated the work and effort, fly strike is awful for sheep I feel like going out armed with a pair of shears and checking the sheep near where I live to help relieve them of these foul insects.
