I've watched so many videos on leather stitching and then I saw yours. Some people should not do videos. You are NOT one of them. I look forward to learning more. You simplify the process by your explanation. I understand you. You have a gift. Thank you. Gotta go cross stitch...

Very useful, I sewed along with you and picked it up really quickly. This was after watching another video for 5 minutes where he skipped the 2nd part altogether! I have subscribed to your channel last year, I don’t know why I just didn’t come straight here. Another clear, concise and to the point video. Thank you. X

Great video. Not sure why no one talks about how if this stitch is performed the "opposite" way (i.e. inside out) that it creates a beautiful "ladder-style" stitch.

I love your channel and have learnt a lot of you! Now, lemme ask. If I want to cross-stitch on a leather cover for a tool's handle (like a hammer), where I have just 1 piece of leather, how do I do this stitching? The space at the inside of the forming project is too small to work like you did here. In this case we use curved needles, right?

Just watched your video, may I ask. What you do to finally tie off the end when finished doing the cross stitch, as you cannot just leave the ends loose on the inside, is it just tie a couple of knots, or is there a better neater way?

I know this is an old comment but I should reply in Geordie's stead. I normally run my excess thread under the former stitches where they will hopefully be out of sight. The tension of the stitches will keep the 'loose' excess thread in tension and free from slipping loose.

Great video. How the back side stitches look like, a horizontal parallel lines or also cross stitches?
@HobbyBloxs
@HobbyBloxs 3 жыл бұрын
Hi. The back has parallel line stitches, which is also nice , so you can reverse the stitching so that the back is the front.

Hi. What distance are you spacing the holes? 4mm?
@HobbyBloxs
@HobbyBloxs 3 жыл бұрын
The distance is determined by the size of the project. Try to make the stitch length proportional, so it looks right. 4mm is a good average.

I find if the stitches are too far apart then the leather edge in between the cross can come up and become unsightly. Mostly if on a part that moves or bends. As always the stitches we use should meet the need and appearance we desire for our projects.
@HobbyBloxs
@HobbyBloxs 5 жыл бұрын
Hi. Yes, your are correct. I purposely made the holes wider apart than normal for the camera and to make it easier for the beginner to see how the stitch is done. Normally I would suggest that the hole spacing is made proportional to the piece you are stitching.
