Totally worth it if you’re planning to do in the civilian world. Had a couple friends get a job easily because of it. Though you aren’t like actually licensed like in the civilian world and just like a basic surveyor, you could easily get licensed and the army would cover it. Just gotta talk to the right people. In active duty you’ll actually be doing your job compared to guard or reserve so you’ll get more experience.

i personally didn't have any, there was one in a class before me, they get their own barracks and basically do what they want. They just go to class then when class is over they are free to do whatever. They still do PT though but they have their own separate PT group and area with other MOSTs. They just form up with us for first formatioin thats it.

I know its about 6 weeks long, and stay with the rest of us in the barracks. They have hands on learning with actual circuits, wiring, conduit bending, also classwork and tests. Don't think they do anything outside for class besides the FTX if they still do those. I plan on reclassing to it soon hopefully in the following months plan to make a video on it when I can.

I believe 18 max but it’s whatever the college takes as well

yes, got plenty of friends who got a job after ait for surveying, some even get jobs through people in the guard/reserve because thats what they do on the civilian side. In terms of experience, depends on your unit, my unit doesn't do much cuz we don't have any equipment while other units do stuff every month because they have equipment.

no but they are needed, if you have any 12t in your unit like officers or sargents, they have alot of connections and know alot of places that will take you. Just gotta talk to them when get to your unit

It’s whatever the state has to offer. So my other 12T NG friends don’t actually do any 12T at their unit in their state because they are in a non engineering unit. But because I’m in a engineer brigade unit and my state has projects that need to be done. I actually do my job. So they send us projects and my company does all auto cad stuff sometimes surveying. But like other companies go out and survey or actual go construct these things we auto cad and then we go and make sure they are doing it right. Some of it is civilian related, some of it is army stuff. But we only work on the weekend drills for it unless you are active guard.

Do 12Ts get deployed to war zones to support combat missions on the front lines with infantry?

@@frankornelas2383 if we gain territory that requires roads or airfields to be built yeah you would go with a 12B or 11B squad to survey and stuff. Main goal of 12T in the army is to build roads and airfields then everything else so that’s the only time you’d be in combat near areas. But you probably wouldn’t see combat cuz we would have control of the area by then to build this stuff. My Sargents said you’ll probably never see combat. But I don’t think a12T unit has been deployed in a while anyways.

Ask your recruit for the best civi job transferring mos. 12T go over seas. I have friends 12Ts in Korea and I guess Hawaii since Hawaii is considered over seas. They also get sent to Germany and other places. Even in the guard some people in my unit who are 12T going to Columbia South America for mos related project for the guard

Really depends on what you are looking for. You could also always ask for deployments and stuff, your unit usually will find a unit to attach you to if you want to deploy

Get your phone full time once you pass the star board. Before you pass it you just get it for a hour on Wednesday and sometimes the weekends I think. I think might of changed. They change rules a lot there

Yeah they only had to show up to formation the same time as us but they did pt among themselves. We only ever saw them in class. Otherwise they had all the freedom

But I believe that’s only for active. I think for guard it’s different if you reclass because I have people in my unit reclass to something like 12B and they only have to attend a 3 week school at a base near me instead of going to Fort Leonard wood where 12B ait is really at. Though it might just be my states thing and not all of guard. So Im not 100% sure

This transfers to civilian world really well and you could get a job cuz of it. There’s also a lot of higher ups who do thsi for a living so they could always take you in into their companies.

Every Wednesday they go to the pool at the gym and do like flutter kicks, hold weights and try and float. They do a lot of 8 count pushups. Try and swim from one side of the pool to the other in one breath I believe. Every other day it’s whatever the dive suit wants to do. So it can be runs like 60s 120s, hill repeats, anything on the pull up bar, fire man carry. They do a lot of pt. Which they have to do since the first 3 weeks is in fort Leonard wood and you have to wait for an opening to go to phase 2 so not going to lie to you. You might get stuck in bravo 169 for a few months if not more

@@Oratordiocan always reclass, plus if you don’t pass the first phase they’ll reclass you. I believe you get to pick as well. But they’ll send you to what is open. Most people got 92G but after a while they stopped so idk
